Will never bank with CIBC again. I switched 2 mortgages over to them a few years back and have had the worst experience. The customer service is so poor, it's actually unbelievable. Phone calls aren't returned, meetings get canceled and then can't get a hold of the person to rebook. On top of this there is no accountability when given the wrong information. ***** ***** **** ********* **** *** ***** **** ******** ***** **** *** *** **** *********  Will never recommend them and are in the process of changing banks

My experience dealing with CIBC was abysmal. From branch managers not returning phone calls to delays in getting replies, they could not care less. Filed a complaint and they never addressed it. **** ** ****** **** **** ** * *******

      **** **** ** * ***** They cut back your credit limit by 50% in 6 months if you don't use your credit card enough but than to increase your limit again is only by 30%. Also, if you are looking to transfer your balance by any chance, don't forget you can only transfer up to 50% of your balance! They also wouldn't advise you that the transfer was declined, *** **** ** ***** ********** **** ** ***** *** **** *** **** ****. Unbelievable, * ** **** *** *** **** **** ***** ******* ************ *** ***** *** ** ********** **** ****. But the best by far is that you cannot withdraw money with the CIBC teller if the card doesn't belong to CIBC..***** * *** ** **** *** **** ** ****** *** *** **** ****** *** ******* **** ******** * **** *** ** ***** **** ***** **** * ***** ****** *** ** ********* **** **** * **** **

Sold my home, cibc manager told us there would be a pre payout penalty, that's a norm in the industry. Cibc manager said it would be 3 to 4 months interest penalty, very common. Our penalty based on that would be approximately 3k. Day of closing we find out they were taking 20k!. After speaking to a couple people at cibc they said there was clearly a misunderstanding and they would be looking into it. After 2 weeks they stopped talking to me, then they closed out my accounts. To this day they have not tried to fix it

***** **** **** ** ********.Ongoing staff changes with declining capabilities. ******** attempts at making appointments with a financial advisor unsuccessful. Call to telephone banking, no appointments available. Nearest financial advisor assigned to me is at another branch in another city.Mistakes made on rrsp transactions with incorrect dollar amounts staff errors.Incorrect advice provided by staff for services that were actually not available. In the past 10 years I have dealt with over 20 different advisors at the same branch as the previous advisor I spoke with was no longer there.Worst banking experience in my lifetime.

**** ** * ******** ************ In 2021 the bank ********** failed to notify the credit bureau that when I sold my house I paid off in full a line of credit of $104,000. The bank lost record of a **** replacement that was lost. The bank transferred my debt to a new **** card but did not close the old **** card and left it as being still active without payment . The **** card number was lost in the banks records. It appeared that in the credit bureau that I was delinquent $110,000. I had to borrow money privately at 10% for one year. I filed a complaint with client services and was ignored but with persistence of three months the bank offered me $200 as compensation! This offer was an admittance of wrong doing so I am going to proceed with litigation ******* *********** *** ****** ******* ****** ** ** *** ***** ********** ********** *** ** * ******* ** *** ***** ** ****** ***** *********** ******* ** *** *** ****** ****** ** ******** ** *** ***** *** ***** **** * **** ** ********* ***** ** *** ****** *******

Just wondering why I had to wait 63 minutes for phone service? Hard to believe that I patronize an institution that totally hates its clients. Shame on me

My brother in law passed away and I’m his executor. I notified CIBC and directed them to maintain the automatic payment for his house insurance, electricity, gas, water/sewer… they canceled all the payments without consulting me… What can I say I’m heart broken.

Asked to close account over 1.5 years ago. Find out I am still being charged monthly for 1.5 years yet NEVER used the account, because it was never closed. When I tried to rectify the situation I paid 160.00 and was offered 80.00 rebate to pay for service fees that still left in overdraft in the hundreds because of their service fees?

Dec. 5/23 Someone got into their financial system and used my credit card about 3 weeks ago and I still can't get this resolved by just simply canceling my card with them, in other words they won't let me, I continue to receive mail in French after telling them I do not read nor write in French, their hold time are close to 2 hours during the evening, my experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare, *** ****** ****** ** **** ***** ** ***** ******** ******* ** **** ***** ***** ***** ******** **** *****
