I am attending a certification course which requires microsoft office. For the past few years, I have been advising clients to find alternatives to microsoft office, and have been using open office as well. When I reopened my office 365 subscription, I was charged an extra $2.50 for tax (after I clicked finish). In all of my orders from microsoft (I had it previously for several years), I was never charged tax, and when I questioned them about it, I was told I need to fill out a tax exempt form. I don't have a tax exempt company, so I do not have the means to do this. No other online software company charges tax that I am aware of, I have not run into any myself, so there could be some out there. So basically, microsoft stole $2.50 from me. I'm wondering how many other people this has happened to. I know times are tough, but a giant like microsoft doesn't need to steal from little people.

Tried to rent a movie on my Xbox and got an error message stating that the transaction didn't complete and to try again later, so I rented it from Amazon Prime. A bit later, I got an email from my bank stating that the Microsoft charge actually did process. I sent a refund request to Microsoft with a detailed message about what happened, but they refused, citing that their Terms of Service does not allow refunds for movie rentals. But if their system told me that there was an error and that I wasn't charged, but Microsoft actually takes the money and refuses to give it back, constitutes theft IMHO. I called my bank to dispute the charge and they didn't even need to investigate it. They gave me my money back immediately. The thing that ***** about that is that Microsoft gets to keep the money anyway, because when you win a dispute through a bank, the bank actually eats the cost because they don't actually take the money back from the merchant. I'm still going to pursue other remedies (like this review) to make sure people are made aware that this happens, because until we start holding corporations accountable for their theft of our money, they'll keep getting away with it! So do not be satisfied with just a charge back from your bank! EVER! Always do what you can to let as many people know about what the corporation that stole your hard earned money as you can or they'll just keep doing it!

I purchased Microsoft 265 Family on my laptop so my kids can use it on my home computer. When I tried to install it on my home computer in April '22, it failed to install. I called Microsoft about my computer and they said that I needed to buy Windows 10 in order to use the Microsoft Family on my Windows 7 computer. The tech walked me through buying the Windows 10 online 04/12/22. He sent me a link to download the software and it failed to 3 times. I called Microsoft 04/13/22 and told them that the installation failed and they gave me the same link and said reboot computer and try again. The downloaded link failed again. I called Microsoft again and told the 3rd tech about the 1st 2 incidents and she said the software would not install Windows 10 because I needed 2 usb to install manually. I told her that I was never told that and I rather have my money back $147.34 because my Windows 7 software works just fine. I shouldn't have to go out and purchase 2 *** sticks which cost $17 in order to install software. She said get the *** sticks and we will walk you through the process. I finally got the *** sticks and called Microsoft back May 3rd, 2022 and explained to the tech the situation and my 3 previous case numbers since they want you to use your case numbers to call back. The tech stated that he doesn't have access to previous case numbers. So Microsoft tech lie about that too. He gave me instructions in which I took a picture of to run the install from a *** stick. The install failed 3 times. I contacted Microsoft back and told them the install failed and I want my money back. The tech did not respond. I have paid $147.34 for software that has failed to install on my computer and $17 for usb sticks that Microsoft said that I needed in order to use Microsoft 365 Family. I want my money back. I have requested a refund on your website. I should not have to pay for a product that I have never been able to install.

******.. Dont Buy! Dont Buy! Dont Buy! Microsoft Is the Absolute worst regarding to Customer Support. Try them, go ahead, and try them. Right now.., try to find a customer support phone number to call ******************** to ask a question about their software or trouble shoot an issue. If you are not an enterprise customer, you can not get them. Forget asking a question about their software. What about when, not if theyre automated up-dates s**** up your computer, change your settings, mess with your files, freeze access to your OneDrive. Go ahead and try to speak with someone, a real live person when you are in need. Forget It..! When you purchase a Laptop or windows related product they promise 24/7 support. They Lie! Go Ahead try speaking with someone, try to prove me wrong. Dont Buy! Dont Buy! Dont Buy! I am a verified user, like half the world. They should be ASHAMED.!!!!!!
