This place is really awful. I had a loan through public service credit union, and then one day they were Canvas. Completly different cultures. I would pay my bill at this and somehow they would charge me double what my bill was. That would drain my account either causing me to overdraft, causing all around havoc to my finances . Then the next week it would only have the original amount. The clerks at the credit union wouldn't know how it happened. I paid the next month and the exact same thing happened. And again when I questioned why they charged me double I couldn't get a response. It got to the point I had to pay my bill in cash so they couldn't deduct double. The vehicle I got ended up not being what I thought I had bought and I couldn't keep it running. It was sold to me with structural damage and it cost me so much to even try to keep it going. Asking for any help, or ideas, or support to get through this ordeal. The only help offered was to do a payment forgiveness for one month. Other then that they said they could repo it. I payed a couple years on this vehicle while it was inoperable. But still needing transportation for work I fell behind and asked them to repo it. They said that it was no longer worth it to them. Fast forward to the court hearing and I showed up, during COVID. They did not show up, I did have a hundred dollars to submit an answer, I thought we we're going to before the judge and have the hearing. Not so the deputies said everything was really relaxed and I shouldn't worry to much about it. I never heard anything back. So a couple years later in getting garnished out of no where and it's not just a percentage of my paycheck it's everything. I had no other summons of court dates or anything like that. They said they served me paperwork, I never received. I was homeless and working in different cities when they said I was served.

I was going through lemon law with my car and needed a new bank that would do substitution of collateral. Canvas said they did over and over on the phone. I moved my loan to canvas. My original loan at my at 6%. Moving to canvas jump to 11%. Which was fine because I was doing substitution of collateral. 5 month later finishing up with my lemon law case. Canvas called and said they don't do substitution of collateral. I was stunned. They pulled ***** and found yes they did stat they could. Now for 10 months I've been paying double on internet. My lemon law case now is done. Canvas has not made this right about lying on *****. Canvas offered to get an approval letter to buy a new car with the Loan through them. Came back with a huge interest rate because they lied back in May of 2024 and hit my credit score. ( substitution of collateral). I didn't need to switch to them because they couldn't do what they said. I would have stayed with my 1st leander. For 10 months paying 11% interest when I didn't have too. Breach of contract. Not right Canvas.

Negative Review of Canvas Credit Union I have been a loyal member of Canvas Credit Union for over 13 years, but my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed.Recently, I fell victim to a scam by clicking a link in a text message. Shortly after, I discovered that four unauthorized transactions had been processed on my account while I was asleep. Although the credit union recognized these suspicious transactions and sent me a verification request via text and email, they allowed all four transactions to process before I could respond. This is not just a minor oversight; it highlights a serious lack of protection for members. When I called for assistance, I spoke with a representative named ****. Unfortunately, my experience with him was unsatisfactory. He was extremely rude, interrupting me repeatedly and talking over me. It felt as though he was more interested in lecturing me about how I "got scammed" than in helping me resolve the issue. Despite my repeated requests to speak with a manager, **** refused to transfer me, which only added to my frustration. His tone was dismissive and condescending, making me feel undervalued as a long-time member. To make matters worse, Canvas Credit Union stated they would not refund my money because I "got scammed," despite processing the transactions without waiting for my verification. This situation has put me in a difficult financial position, and it seems my concerns were not taken seriously. Please note that this review reflects my experience with Canvas Credit Union as a whole, even though I had to select a specific location to post it. This experience has made me question my loyalty to Canvas Credit Union.

Fraudulent activity on my account, in part caused by their policies. Treated with total disrespect by their fraud department.. They blocked my account permanently, confiscated funds sent to me by my sister through ***** saying it was a fraudulent transaction and locked my ***** account permanently. Never got back to me about it. So my sister lost her money, when she had nothing to do with it and was trying to meep me alive as I am not working due to a brain injury They refused to return the money to her when I requested it. Now my credit is affected due to this, and I can't open up a bank account anywhere because of this.

I would give negative stars if I could. I took out a car loan with them , and was in a car accident with this car, and the car is not drivable. I called them to let them know I didn't have the money of 1000 to take the car to get evaluated, and I unfortunately couldn't make the payments , they without my authorization took ALL my money out of my account and now I have no money to feed my family. The car is basically a total loss but needs a teardown to confirm, and I understand that I needed to do my part, however how can they take ALL my money, now I can't pay bills or eat because of them.

I cant say enough about the customer ********************** I received from Candy in the call center. The fact I received a follow up call two weeks after ****** claimed they would send me a refund is Telling of them going above and beyond to satisfy their customers. I will likely always keep this account because of this.

BEWARE!!! They are a fraud. DO NOT GET A LOAN THROUGH THEM! IF YOU DO, DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO GET IT WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY! They bought out the credit union I had my car loan with in 2022. My loan was with ************************************** Credit Union in **************. *** I was told that with this by out they would not be honoring the extra life and disability policies that was on my loan. There fore my loan amount would drop to reflect this as well as I would be getting this money back. I purchased my vehicle in March of 2018. Since Canvas buyout in April of 2022. I have been getting the run around on this matter. They refuse to give me my refund and drop my payment to reflect this no longer policy on my loan. AT one time, I was told by a **** that I wasn't getting anything back. I have spoke with an ****** who sent me just the copies of how much the loan was, not my original loan with the amount. They know that at one point I did have these insurances on my loan. I have recorded our conversations as they have recorded mine. AS we all know in the state of ******** and ************ as long as one party knows its allowed. I have reported them to the Insurance Commissioner in ********. I will now be taking my story to the media in ********. IF they are doing this to me, how many other people are they doing this too? IF you go to ************************************************************* you will see all their lies about who they claim they are and clearly are not!

I was a member for 17 years. During that time, I financed 4 Automobiles and paid them all off. I had never been late on a payment or had a negative balance on my checking account. I got into an accident and was hospitalized. Eventually causing my account to go negative due to reoccurring auto debits. When I got out of the hospital, I called to make it right and found out they closed my accounts and sent me to collection. Canvas Credit Union does not care about relationships. Since the re branding of Public Service Credit Union, they just treat you like a number and not a person. I would not recommend this bank if you are a person who values relationships, because they certainly dont.

Not a decent credit union to finance a vehicle through. Repossessed my car even after making payments and telling them I was going to be making a payment in front of the tow driver and he still took off with my car. Call the bank, and they don't care at all about their customers. I now owe $900 for it to be towed. Worse mistake I could have ever made was financing with this company. Buyer beware.

I bought my car using Canvas Credit Union and a couple of years ago when I paid it off they told me the put the change in my account but I wouldn't be able to access it for about a week but the longer I left it the more interest I would build up. So I left it and I'll forget about it until recently. And when I went to close the account they told me I didn't have an account. They are a bunch of thieves and liers.
