TERRIBLE. They are expensive and subpar. They make you pay when their own cameras don’t work. Wouldn’t give our money back after camera was down for more than a week. Would never recommend them to anyone. Been with them for over 3 years because we were locked into a contract..Alarm.com Inc

1 starWhere do I start Alarm.com came off started as a pretty decent system but I would say after about 6 month or so services or things that were available and that I was still paying for started not working. The call station if your alarm was activated that would notify you i would sometimes not receive a call or I would receive a call 30 or 40 mins after the alarm was first activated. I called and spoke to an gentleman in IT I believe it’s one guy he’s very friendly but some of the issues I was having couldn’t get fixed and then removing thermostats when I switch seemed to be impossible even though I was hold it would be done and then i would have to deal with random alerts that was annoying. Over all I feel this company trying to keep up with the demand but isn’t able to and when you go to cancel they make it difficult even after talking to them over the phone multiple times about an email that was never sent to cancel and I call back with no luck. It’s like they want to squeeze every single penny from you before letting going even after issuing with the service and equipment. I wish I knew what I know now about this company and I say skip over them and go to a better well known company or even a ring or different self service brand.Review fromAllen W

1 starThis was a disappointing, drawn out affair to start up Alrarm.com equipment on a home that I bought with existing equipment. I opted to remove the Ring Doorbell camera and replace it with a VDB700 supplied and installed by Alarm.com. While waiting for the install the kitchen door sensor gave me a trouble fault. The monitoring service called with a tamper alarm when I opened the sensor to check the battery. The installer had given the monitoring company my code and it was input improperly so I had issues with the monitoring company not accepting it and giving me a warning that they were not going to call the police ???? If they wouldn't accept the code why not? The install was rescheduled 3 times before being installed. Alarm.com is aware of an issue with existing doorbell transformers not supplying enough power yet they did not check the transformer and did not inform me of the potential problem and fix if it should occur. It did occur 30 hours in to the operation of the device. I found that instructions for the same task varied between the unit and the website. I affected the fix myself and it is now working. Poor documentation, poor service. Not a good experience.Review fromBrent J.

The Alarm.com video monitoring service is wholly lacking to the point of being useless. Connecting to their cameras often times out or the video quality is so poor that it's impossible to use as intended, as part of a security solution. When calling support, you'll be told it's your wireless connection even though the cameras are hardwired or your ISP. Anything to deny responsibility on behalf of Alarm.com for their overpriced and useless video monitoring service. Alarm.com com has recently changed the default video stream to standard definition, this combined with the fact that they haven't offered a streaming camera with a resolution higher then 1080p even through their competitors have offered higher resolution for years clearly indicates a lack of investment in their infrastructure to support the customers they have or improve their service offering.Alarm.com Inc

Hello Brent, We are sorry to hear of the experience you’ve had with your direct service provider (the company that installed and services your system) and streaming your video devices. We know how important it is for your home security and video monitoring to operate as expected. We reached out to you and your service provider and were able to verify your issues with viewing live view have been resolved. Please reach out to [email protected] with the case number provided if you have any additional questions or concerns regarding this issue. We also wanted to share some information regarding video image quality of live view. Some camera models can be optimized for motion and clarity if desired. Increasing the video image quality improves the fine details in the picture, while decreasing the video image quality reduces the amount of bandwidth the video device needs. We understand image quality needs and desires may vary from one user to another, and it is a decision best made by you and your provider since you are aware of what best fits your situation. We appreciate your interest in cameras with resolutions higher than 1080p. Alarm.com is always looking for new ways to innovate to deliver the best experience we can to our users. One of the ways we do this is by taking suggestions and input from the people who use our platform the most – end-users like you. We will certainly share your request with the appropriate team. 2 starsMy experience echoes the concerns raised in the review posted by M***** C. I initially purchased my equipment years ago through Alarm.com, opting for a do-it-yourself installation via a different vendor of Alarm.com. That vendor, along with the monitoring company, has since become part of Brinks.com, a company with a concerning track record (as evidenced by their BBB rating). Alarm.com made an effort to disassociate itself from these disreputable third-party distributors in their response to the poster M***** C. . Initially, I did not believe that Alarm.com and Brinks were collaborating. However, when I attempt to avoid Brinks and reestablish my individual relationship with Alarm.com and went to their website seeking hardware and a new monitoring service, I discovered that Alarm.com's own website funneled me right back to Brinks. It is troubling to see that Alarm.com continues to direct customers toward these "bad apples" without proper vetting. This lack of awareness and oversight taints Alarm.com's reputation, making them complicit in the unethical business practices of the companies they associate with. Consequently, I can only give Alarm.com a 1-star rating, and caution those who wish to do business with them.Review fromMarisa C.

Alarm.com contacted me stating they were representing ADT and that my panel was outdated and needed upgrade. I was told this service would be free of charge. A sales rep came to my home and advised that my ADT panel will soon quit communicating to the monitoring center and that an upgrade is required. I was told once they replace the panel my monitoring service would need to be moved to Brinks and my monthly rate would go from $27 to $52 a month. I contacted ADT and they advised that this information is a lie. ADT states that there are no issues with my panel and my service will not be interrupted. It appears that Alarm.com was providing false information in order to move my business to another company. The ADT representative stated that they have been getting calls from other customers with the same concerns. This fraudulent activity is unacceptable!Alarm.com Inc

1 starThrough Cox Cable for security cameras, Alarm.com is contracted for my business. After the upgraded install of my 22 cameras (that were working just fine) I have more than half that will NOT record. It has been 2 weeks, I've made several trouble calls with Cox Cable just for a Cox technician to come out, restart the system, and say there's nothing they can do because it is Alarm.com's equipment. I ask them to have Alarm.com to come out and fix their equipment and the technician makes a trouble call with Alarm.com and nobody responds. Documentation is happening, I hope to take this matter higher with compensation.
