I took my engine to get rebuilt by Carolina Machine Engine on **** *** ****. The full price was $2896.00. I paid a deposit of 1500.00 and was told it would be 6-8 weeks for repairs. Called back on ****** ***** **** and was told they were waiting on parts. It would be 2 more weeks. Hurricane Helene came the end of ********* **** and no one answers my voicemails left or calls. No communication from them. This is unacceptable.

I took my engine to CME to have it rebuilt. I paid 50% of the cost when I dropped it off in May 2024. They assured me I would get my engine back in 6 to 8 weeks. All I have received from them is excuses about suppliers not delivering parts. Now their website is gone, no phone, nothing. How can I get my engine or money back?

At this point I think they do not or maybe never intended on building the engine I paid half up front for. The website no longer exist, the message you receive when you call the number is to not leave a message and tells you to send an email to ******************** This is the way I have been in contact with them since the start of this process. NOW though when you email them you get email not deliverable message. I have been in contact with them ever since January 25h when I was told the project would take 12-18 weeks. I emailed them April 2nd and was told we were 8 weeks in to a 15 to 25 week project. I emailed them on 12 July and let them know 1 August was around the 25 week mark. I did not get a response. I emailed 26 July, again no response. I emailed on 2 August and received a response on 15 August after talking to Mike on the phone. On 19 September I sent another email. On 19 October I received an email saying they were closed due to storm damage. And that if you ordered a engine it was safe from the storm. I responded on 22 October letting them know I was sorry for the damage, and that I need a no kidding date that my engine would be done. I let them know if it wasn't going to be soon I wanted to cancel my order and get a refund. This email was undeliverable at the same email address that I have been using for over 9 months. When they respond its always slow and with vague answers, always saying that they are waiting on parts. I just want my money back so that I can get my car up and running. Like I said I just want my money back so I can finish my project, but there website is down, there email doesn't work any longer and there voice message refers you to the email address that doesn't work and directs you not to leave a message.

Contracted to have CME rebuild an engine that I supplied to CME on 6/26/23. Paid $4,634.55 to CME through credit card. CME had the engine I was supplying picked up on 6/28/24 (Engine cost $1,000.00). I sent a new distributor and new carburetor to CME (upon their request) on 9/29/23 ($1,317.49). They were contracted to clean and rebuild the engine I sent them and provide a complete, tested engine run on their dyno to provide 525 horsepower and 625 pounds of torque. The time discussed to complete the engine was quoted to be 15-25 weeks from the date they received the engine. It will be 16 MONTHS on 10/28/24, and they have not provided the engine. I have contacted them via phone and email several times a month for each month they've had it, having to drag information from them. They always state that they are having issues with getting parts - due to Covid. They promise to have it done within two weeks, every time I contact them. They promised to be in contact with me weekly, but never contacted me at all. I even gave them information for a company that sells the parts that they supposedly couldn't get anywhere and advised them to contact them. I have to contact them all the time. I have multiple emails stating the above. I am looking to get a refund for the money I paid as well as the engine, distributor, and carburetor that I sent them returned.

In January i sent CME a $10,000 check. For a *** ******r engine. The engine Mike from CME talked me into. They sent me a receipt and said it would be done in 12 weeks. 12 weeks later he said no it’s a 27 week project. 27 weeks later the waiting on parts ** story starts. Now we a up to present time. It’s October 17 and know he has ghosted me. Last week I called he said he was closed due to storm damage and leave a message. The message said the emails were down. Now this week I called they said don’t leave a message send an email. So I send him an email asking for a refund. After leaving the phone messages and the emails asking for refund. I got messages from email that my emails are not going through. So now I am out $10,000. I received nothing. I was scammed by an old man. I thought I did my research. He said he has a AAA rating with BBB. He did in January when I ordered the engine. Now I look and he’s revoked!! I can’t believe this place can get away with this kind of fraud and theft. He is still saying he has a AAA with the BBB. He needs to go to jail

I purchased an Engine from sales associate Tony on January 19th 2024 with and expected completion and shipping date to be a 6-8 week process. tony told me to call back in approx.. 4 weeks for a status update. they said they had the cores to build it and were waiting on parts. i have called several times after that and they say I have to talk with Mike the owner. Mike is never in I have tried all hours of the day. I had gotten ahold of Mike by email and has told me he supplier is backed up on parts and he will purchase from summit if needed. that was in May. last communication from Mike was in June 20th stating that parts were shipping after the 4tth of jully holiday. I have sent emails every month to check on the status and have gotten No responce. this is a engine I paid 50% upfront on and should have received no later than April 15th. I want my engine done and completed with warranty as specified or a 100% refund of my money ASAP.

This business advertised having a AAA rating from the BBB. I now learn they have an F rating. I sent them $2,430.80 deposit on a remanufactured engine for my car on ******* **, 2023. To this date I have not received the engine after being told for almost a year the rebuild will be complete in two weeks. On ****** **, 2024 I again asked for a refund. They tell me it's approved but they can't tell me when they will send it. I have no reason to believe they ever will. I need your help.

This business has had a motor of mine since April, 2024. We paid the owner $4000 to rebuild the motor. After several weeks of us contacting him, he began to tell us that he ordered parts from California and the shipment was delayed. This was every time we reached out to him as he never called us with an update. We made an unannounced visit to the business only to be told that his wife left him and took all of his money and he couldn't immediately refund us. Furthermore, he never touched the motor and never ordered parts as he told us constantly that he was working on it. He post dated a check and told us to hold it for 2 weeks. I may have to take him to court.

On ******24, I purchased a remanufactured automobile engine from the business Carolina Machine Engines. I complied with all of the terms of the sale and have been waiting on a refund for my engine core trade-in for over 4 months, since ****24. Carolina Machine Engines is no longer responding to my attempts at communications to resolve the refund. COST ITEMIZATION OF PURCHASE: ****** ****** * ******** *******  1) Engine $1796.00 2) Refundable Core Charge with trade it engine core $495.00 3) Shipping to residence $289.98 4) Return shipping of engine core trade in from residence to Carolina Machine Engines facility $255.36 5) Engine oil $42.90 TOTAL: $2879.24 SHIPPING COST ADD ON: $207.34 additional charges for shipping. According to the freight carrier ** ******** ****** *********, they delivered the engine core trade-in item to Carolina Machine Engines facility on ***/24 at 11:49am. This is confirmed by a copy of the freight carriers Bill Of Lading ***** ***********  After 7 months of good faith attempts to resolve this by myself, based on the their actions at this time I can only conclude that Carolina Machine Engines is stealing from me by maintaining possession of my engine core and not returning it to me when I asked for it as well as committing fraud against me by not refunding my core trade-in refund as stated and documented on their advertisements as well as what is outlined and agreed upon documented on the original purchase order and payment receipt. The resolution I am looking for is the agreed upon refund of $495.00 for my ****** **** Trade-in or to have my original engine core returned to me and shipped back to my residence. This would need to include my exact engine core that I shipped to their facility with the exact serial # that is stamped into the engine block. I can provide all corresponding documents for reference to include original purchase order invoice, payment receipts, email communications, phone call dates, etc.

Purchased an engine from CME last year, bought many accessories a d interchanging parts for its function. Once installed and tested, discovered many functionality issues. Tried resolving on my own (w/help of many different Professionals & **** ****** ***********) -with no results, since I was intermittently ignored when presenting malfunctions w/CME. I am out so much money in doing so. I was promised a refund, but only strung along for several months & have not received anything. The communication (ph & emails) has been severed again after a phone call ****/24 with Mr Mike about returning the rest of the part for full refund. During that call, (it was at a shop for 2wks) he said (like he did for last year's refund) that the next thing I could do is send it back for refund, so after that wknd on 6/24 I pkd up the car and emailed him that the motor will be out for return the next wk and pls arrange freight or tell me where to send - but only silence [again] so far. I tried calling to speak with him today and still unavailable. Please help me get my money back from Carolina Machine Engines (aka CME). I have been taken advantage of in more ways than one and have paid them in full for a dysfunctional motor that I cannot even get out of the garage with at times & when I do, I have been stuck every time it has to come to a stop - unable to make it out an intersection. I have used costly tows to get it from shop to shop with them saying to return the motor because it needs to be rebuilt, has knocking, severe issues. I have heard it all & no one has wanted to open that type of problem, they all say to take it back where I got it. I expressed that to the company who only wanted me to take it to other places (a non shop, someone working in there garage) I explained not having those resources & could no longer drag a non working vehicle around anymore. Finally (last month), Mike mentioned it could be sent back. I have it available for return but all of a sudden ghosted. Thanks.
