I am rejecting this response because:
As per my documents that I mailed in, I purchased a new gutter that is called Wingless per their advice to improve the amount of water that goes to each downspout. Other than that issue my Gutter was in perfect condition. I now have just a fraction of water exiting on one side as compared to before so they made a minor distribution of water flow into a situation where now there is almost no water flow in one downspout.My roof does not lay flat at the roof line and the corners also are not flat. This is a result of the leaf filter product they installed. Before they installed their leaf filter product my roof layed flat at the roof line.
The only pre existing roof issue per them is that the roof has a dip in it which prevents the even flow of water in the gutter but it did no stick up as it does now. They should have told me about the dip before the job instead of selling me a gutter under false representation. My issue is not with the dip in the roof . It is with the uneven roof line caused by their installation of their product and selling me a gutter i did not need and left me with distribution of water worse than before they came.
Since I mailed my complaint, they agreed to refund the entire amount of the job and purchase of the new gutter if I sign a release. I am waiting to see if they follow through and depending what the release states, that would resolve the issue. Until I see what is in their release, the case is still pending. I need to see what the release states before I commit to it

If leaf filter follows through with the agreement to refund all my money, I will be satisfied. They require signing a release which I will do if I Don't find anything objectionable in it. The agreement was made after I mailed in my complaint. So far I have not received any documents from leaf filter so I do not know if they will follow through. If I do not receive my money, my complaint stands as submitted requesting return of entire payment $4,450. I have given them numerous times to fix the issues and each visit causes a new problem or makes the existing ones worse

Received release from leaf filter but it wants me to release them from any damages. As I have not had someone to come out to fix the roof line and put the water flow in downspouts back to where it was before leaf filter came And to check if they did do any other damage or if water has gotten under the roof line as the roof line no longer lays flat, I cannot sign the release. Also, the amount of payment is wrong in the release. Asked for verification as indicated in release that they are not coming back to remove the leaf filter product minus the gutter which stays.Initial Complaint

I contacted this business in December 2024 to inquire about getting gutters/ gutter guards in my home. The representative that came to my home treated me unfairly I believed due to the color of my skin. I made a complaint with the company. A representative of the company referred me to someone who could help me. This person was not any help at all. When I had to reschedule my appointment due to a death in the family, he gave me a hard time. Once again, I sent in a complaint and was referred to someone that was rude. I finally had a schedule date to get the work done for April 12, 2025. I sent the representative several emails requesting to send me a contract for me to sign, and review. I also requested information on how to submit for payment when the work is completed. As of today, I’ve not heard back from the representatives of this company. I’m beyond frustrated with the lack of respect this company has given me. All I ever wanted was to get new gutters on my home. I’m a highly respected Educator in the County in which I live. I will be sharing this experience with others, so they can avoid using this company in the future.Business Response

I had gutter protection installed 10-8-24 and the work was awful, and after 3-4 supervisors had been out to assess they decided to remove the gutters since they could not fix them correctly. They were removed 12-19-24. Then I waited for my money to be returned. Well, no refund in January so I started calling to inquire as to when I would receive my money back. Finally on 2-6-25 I received a check for $5325.00 which was the original cost for the gutters, but now this is 3-20-25 and I still have not received the check for $850.00 for the damage they did. I spoke with an attorney and he suggested sending a demand letter, which I did but Leaffilter would not accept the letter and it was returned to me. I have called and called all the numbers of people that were more than willing to deal with me until it came to the refund and now they won't answer my calls or when they do it doesn't go anywhere. No one will return any of my calls. I just want the rest of my money but can't seem to get anywhere and I am hoping the BBB will be able to help.Business Response

We purchased services for full gutter replacement around our house. The work was done on 03/24/25 and 03/25/25. Job #******** at ** ***** ***** *** ********** ** ***** The next day, yesterday 03/26/25, we had some rain. To my dismay, within the first day of light rain it was clear the gutter install job was unprofessional and defective. In several places, the rain was running and leaking THROUGH the seams, and from there, running all along, and OUTSIDE the gutter and downspout. Even worse, the water was running in BETWEEN the fascia/soffits of the house (wood) and the gutter, not IN the gutter, which would eventually cost tens of thousands of dollars to have all fascia/soffits replaced due to rotting. Some of the downspouts were clearly damaged in the process and all dented. The connections between the gutters and downspouts leak. I actually specifically pointed out the corner seam where it looked like the water would obviously run through the cracks of the joint. The worker said it would never leak, that there also was silicone inside. Clearly not the case. You will also see in the pictures, the poor work in installing the leaf filter strips on top of the gutter, where there are open gaps in install. On top if it, on a whole North side of the house, the leaf filter screen WASN'T EVEN INSTALLED!!! In another corner, the gutter is not even screwed in, leaving a gapping space and the leaf filter screen is already ripped. Many concrete tiles just above the gutter were broken in the careless install process. See pictures and videos. In doing some research I notice that there are many complaints against your company, many consistent with the above sloppy, unprofessional and defective work, joints/leaking issues and house fascia damage, not to mention a class action lawsuit, and poor BBB reviews. We have put a stop payment on our check. We do not have any confidence in your ability to re-do this job, based on your sloppy, defective and unprofessional work.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that the resolution proposed is reasonable. The issue is NOT fixed at this point though. **** and **** from Leaffilter came today and as requested did a full review of their work, what was done wrong, and how they would fix it. As this report was in line with a Building Inspector report we hired to assess roof and gutter install, as well as an independent contractor opinion, we believe at this time that Leaffilter should be able to redo/correct their work. This should be organized and scheduled within 3-4 weeks per our conversation with them today. I was contacted by LeafFilter to have a meeting with a.representative at that meeting I was shown a very professional presentation that promised a professional would do my project right.That is not what happened after the guards were installed the next morning in daylight I found white plastic scrap all around my house and in the street left from cutting the leaf guards and looking further found a number of of small screws laying in my driveway that were used to attach the guards at that point, I was concerned about the whole job and called to have a person come out and check it as I am 78 years old and due to a surgery can not be up on a ladder that is why I agreed to pay the original amount a different installer was sent to check the job right off he Found a number of problems. Deflectors had not been put at the valleys. One piece had been cut incorrectly and would’ve fallen into the gutter. The seams were not sealed the gutters had not been cleaned. These were things that had been promised inthe presentation to be done right the first time when I called the company I felt I should get a refund. I was told they would offer me $100 I did not accept. I did not feel that was adequate compensation for somebody who I paid to do the job right to this. I might add. I then got an email sayingif I would recommend them I would receive $250 and the person getting the job would get a $250 reduction. This all sounds to me like a bribe to recommend company that did not do a good job. thanks for your help **** *******. I signed a contract for LeafFilter installation on a portion of my gutters abutting my pool cage. The contract calls for cleaning the gutters, flushing downspouts, and installing leaf filter on the gutters. The technician came out on February27, 2025. I didn’t have a chance to inspect their work for a couple of weeks due to not being able to climb a ladder. But when I did I noticed they had not fully cleaned out the gutters and had not flushed the downspouts. I called and reported a complaint and they sent someone out on March 13. He said he couldn’t do anything because I had French drains. I said no one told me that when I agreed to the job. The gutter was not fully cleaned and the downspouts never flushed. Gutter covers purchased in ******* area; paid for and installed in November 2024, 5 months later gutters leaking and service is non-responsive; leaking over front door getting the bottom half totally wet and getting whoever uses the front door wet also. Leaking on the deck and getting furniture wet too. Requested service for main office 2/24/25. Contractor sent out the next day who stated the incorrect part had been used. A WEEK LATER still leaking. Local office didn’t respond to my voicemail about how to proceed with repair so called main service number and scheduled appointment for morning of Feb 28. NO ONE SHOWS UP. I call main number again and another contractor shows up 3 hours late. He ALSO states the wrong part was used. Wondering how many times they need to inspect it. After 2 inspections, last one 2/28 no phone call, no text, NOTHING HAPPENS until I call the main number AGAIN, and finally hear from local office March 11 (almost 2 weeks later) wanting to come out the next day. Unfortunately I am not available. I provide info as to when I would be available over the next few days. FIVE days later and still NO RESPONSE. They claim to be the best but after all the FRUSTRATION and EXPENSE it appears not to be a good investment.Business Response

We contacted LeafFilter for a new gutter and downspout system, for which we provided a cashier's check for the amount of 5,654. The salesperson noted that our presence was required during the installation. I mentioned that I would be home but be more accessible on Friday due to work obligations. The salesperson assured me that this wouldn't be necessary. We scheduled the service for Thursday, 11-21-24. During the installation, I had the opportunity to speak with the worker, who explained various aspects of the project. I decided against adding a second downspout and inquired whether this would reduce our total cost.I informed him that I only had the cashier's check and wouldn't be able to visit the bank for a new one that day. He then contacted someone at LeafFilter, who indicated that we would receive a $50 refund to account for the change in work. I requested written confirmation of this, but he could only provide a text message from the person he spoke with. He mentioned that someone would reach out to us regarding the refund. To fulfill our contractual obligation and avoid any breach, I provided him with the cashier's check for the full amount. After a couple of weeks without any communication, my husband reached out to LeafFilter. On 12-31-24, he spoke with a representative who acknowledged the $50 discrepancy and informed him that they had not cashed the full amount of the cashier's check. We contacted our bank, and the teller confirmed that LeafFilter was indeed responsible for issuing the $50 refund, as the check had been withdrawn from our account, and we had no means to recover the $50 except through them. My husband called LeafFilter again and left a voicemail. We allowed a few more weeks for a response. He subsequently called again and left another voicemail. Several weeks have passed since then, and we still have not heard from LeafFilter, nor have we received our $50. To resolve this matter, we kindly request the refund of the $50.Business Response
