My car was repoed through source one by ********** **** while I was on vacation on 04/22/2025 around 11:30 pm. When I got back in town on 04/24/25 and the vehicle was missing I went through the process with ********** **** to retrieve the car. When I picked the car up around 2 pm on 04/25/25, the vehicle clearly had damage from the towing. They showed me a picture of “the damage prior to towing”. The picture did not match up with where the car was towed from and is close up on the car so you can’t actually see the location. I am 100% positive the damage was not there when I left for vacation. I have taken photos and sent them to my bank as well as the representative from source one for the claim. They will not provide me the body cam footage they stated they have. I can see on the car and the fence next to my home where the accident would have taken place. If this is not resolved within the next few weeks, I have already contacted my attorney as well as small courts claims to resolve this situation if I do not hear back from them. I had the car taken to a body shop to get an estimate an hour after I picked the car up and it’s estimated of almost $3000 in ******* damages.

Source one was called to Repo a vehicle that was 9 days past due. Vehicle was repossessed on Sunday and I picked it up The next day on Monday. The company had us sign for Vehicle before we could see it. Once in our (my husband and I) possession I realized the company had taken out all my Change from console and $5 dollars bills, that I always kept stashed away for "just incase". My car was locked when they took it. I had the spare key. The worker had my car started before I got to it. Telling me it was unlocked. During the time they gained access they scratched and scuffed my door with their tools. I have tired to contact them multiple times to get my personal items back that they removed with no luck. I would like some answers from them.Business Response

Source One has investigated this complaint and denies the allegations. The Complainant states that when the customer redeemed the vehicle it was running. We cannot start a car without the key which the Complainant states she had. Furthermore, the customer signed a personal property receipt stating he had received all personal property from the vehicle.Customer Answer

I have marks on Vehicle to show they opened my driver's door. The way the vehicle was parked with the front up to a fence is only possible by pulling it in between other vehicles, especially with the way it was towed there. Yes, my husband had to sign that paper but he wasn't allowed to see or retrieve the vehicle without signing first. The vehicle was inside a fenced in area, the man drove my vehicle out to us, outside the fence. Signing the paper is the only way we could get the vehicle out to us. If they hadn't gotten inside my vehicle then how would he be able to drive it out us, I didn't give them any keys. I had a set of keys locked inside the car, and I HAD MY SPARE. So with the spare in my possession there is no other way he entered and started my vehicle other than gaining access to it while the company had it. Their company website says they Source One have 24 hr surveillance camera's. I would like to see those while my vehicle was in their possession. I would like my money they took from my vehicle. I would like to see the camera's they have. I think that would solve this issue. Noone from this Source One will return my phone calls. Further more the picture I sent was taken directly after we left and Source One wouldn't answer my calls. This picture shows where they scuffed up my trim between front and back door. The seals were also damaged. How did the man get my vehicle out to my husband and I WITHOUT keys?Regards,

Source One did not open the driver's door of the vehicle. As the complainant stated, they picked up the vehicle the day after it was repossessed, we wouldn't have had a chance to open it to clean out the property. Complainant did not mention she had a set of keys locked inside the vehicle. If that is the case, either we were able to open it by touching the handle of the vehicle and then drove it out to complainant when they arrived, or complainant opened it with her set when she arrived and then we drove it out. Again, there wasn't enough time for us to have this vehicle opened and cleaned out in between the time it was recovered and the time she redeemed. As for money in the vehicle, again we did not have time to access the vehicle. Moreover, she initially told our employee that it was just some loose change in the console, now she is stating that it is $5 bills, this is inconsistent. Complainant states that she keeps calling and we aren't answering, but our employee spoke with her on February 1st and she hasn't called back since.Initial Complaint

I have been trying to reach source one adjusters, a tow company hired by the company I make car payments through to do repossessions. They repossessed my vehicle and in process damaged it, pictures provided. I have been trying to contact the business since the week I got my vehicle back and have sent them proof of the damages and they are no longer taking my calls or returning my emails. The company has charged me $400 for repossession fees but no accommodation for the damages they caused.Business Response

We previously investigated this complaint and determined we did not cause any damage to the vehicle; therefore, we are not responsible for any repairs. This was relayed to the complainant.Initial Complaint

My vehicle was stolen i had a title loan on it and the company picked it up from thw tow lot where the police had taken it too. The company that had picked my car up was Source One Adjusters on canal fulton. I ended up missing a few appointments due to depending on people to take me down there to pick up my property which is 30 mins away from my house. I was finally able to get a ride down there i called and spoke to someone they started to say they wouldn't allow me to get my stereo equipment saying that it had been wired to the car. Which was not the case when i had my vehicle last prior to ot being stolen. I had put the equipment in my car but I didn't have a chance to install any of the music because it was stolen. I explained that to Source one but they still said I couldn't get my stereo equipment. to pick up my property which is 30 mins away from my house. Then they started to say that i could only get my speakers because they werent hooked up. They kept changing the story they even lied to me and said the car had been sold to an auction which was not true. I started to become suspicious so I called them back to go down to just go talk to them in person but they started ignoring my calls. I called a numerous of times and also left voice-mails but no one would answer return my calls. I had a feeling that they were ignoring me so I had a friend call and they answered the phone. I immediately called and they didn't answer. Now it's past the time frame for me to get my belongings. I honestly feel like they acted that way on purpose so that they could keep my belongings.Business Response

Anything wired into the car stays with the car and goes to the auction. We worked with the auction and have your wired in speakers. We have had them since before 5/9/23. You have not shown up for your appointments to pick your items up. Please call to reschedule your missed 5/9/23 appointment.Customer Answer

I reject the response from source one upon receiving my property source one had stated that the amplifier and subwoofers had been wired to the vehicle and they had to unhook the amplifier and subwoofers so they I could pick it up. Prior to the vehicle being stolen I hadn't wired anything to the vehicle so nothing was hooked up. Source one also stated the property had been thrown in trash and they had to remove it from the trash. When arriving Iand receiving my property I noticed that my head unit to my radio and door speakers were missing. It seemed as if they tired repairing a whole on my subwoofers because there was a white putty that felt fresh its usually used to patch things. When I asked them about it they claimed it had came to them in that condition and tried place the blame on Akron coach the impound lot that had the vehicle prior too source one. When I contacted ***** ***** they had no knowledge of it and stated that's not the condition the subwoofers were in when the vehicle left their lot.

*** **** did call numerous times and did make numerous appointments to collect his belongings but did not show up for those appointments. He did finally pick up his property on 6/13, 70 days after the vehicle was picked up from impound and over twice the normal time we store belongings. We did accommodate *** **** to the best of our abilities. He self admitted that his vehicle was stolen and that we recovered it from impound thus he has no actual knowledge of the condition of his belongings at the time we took possession of them. Rest assured we have no interest in anyone's personal belongings and we strongly encourage everyone to come collect them as soon as possible after we receive the vehicle. Unfortunately, there is nothing further we can do at this point. Mr. **** has picked up all property from the vehicle.Initial Complaint

They didn’t tell me that they were doing so, Andrew the ***** that came and got my bike was a complete *** wanted to fight me and broke my hand when I had done nothing but ask him what he was doing. He told me to call the bank to solve this matter it was 6 at night they were not open so he lied. These people have no common sense they will give anyone a job. Andrew was a complete *** and wouldn’t give me until the next day to make this right. The second guy he was with knew Andrew crossed the line and he had just stayed out of it. If this company contacts me or shows up on my property again we will sue. 200$ for their mess up I had to pay for nothing. Andrew needs to be terminated and charged for thisBusiness Response

Vehicle was repoed and company within days moved vehicle to auction lot in order to jack up repo fees of up to 500 for relocation and storage when it was made clear payment was arranged to bank. As far as resolution please crack down on these practices so others won’t be subjected to bs charges in the future.Business Response

While collecting my belongings I noticed that my **** Earbuds were missing. One of only three things I really cared about in my car. When I asked about it I was told that they could only file a complaint and I may or may not be contacted about it. I wasn't shown any paperwork proving this would happen and was basically blown off. These Earbuds aren't cheap and I want them back! I'm going to be a constant nuisance until they magically reappear...Business Response

Source one adjusters came and repossessed my car for being late. I got the car through **** bank. Anyway, they took the car early in the morning on September 12,13,14, one of those days. I woke to my car gone. No warning, no knock to notify and at least get my personal property. So i go up on September 26 ,2022 to get my personal property from the car. She comes out with 2 little bags. I ask her where all my stuffs at. My 2 ******* tool bags, 3 person tent, 2 sleeping bags, 4 fold out chairs, 2 bags of grip gloves, my medications, bottle of ******** *** ******** ********** ***** *******. This is the *** ********************* *** ****** ***** ***** ********* ** *** *** * **** ***** ******* If you read the reviews you'll see many complaints of theft of property. I'm sure there's plenty more that didn't leave a review. I just think this is no way to run a business. Stealing peoples belongings that are already having troubles or whatever it may be. They know must people will just leave it be or feel helpless to do anything. This business is straight up charging unwarranted fees and stealing peoples property.Business Response

Unfortunately, Federal Law does not allow us to door knock during the early morning hours while people are sleeping. We do apologize that not all of your belongings were located in the property room on 9/26/22. But everything was located and picked up a day later. Thank you for your patience while we continue to train our new staff.
