      Owen purchased the family owned Actio Security Company. They continue to provide the customer oriented service to which we are accustomed to having. Grace A***** is exceptional. Very nice, and helpful. She surprised me with a follow up call to make sure my glass break sensor was working properly. The ownership change appears to be seamless .

      Owen Security accounting department is a train wreck! I mistakenly signed a contract with them due to some technical service they provided and have regretted it ever since. Over the last 3 years they have continually sent past due notices when my account was current. I sent a 2021 cancellation letter to be effective 7/24/23 and now they say they cannot find it. Turns out they are also not price competitive if you need another reason to not do business with them. Dealing with Owen Security is major frustration so recommend you avoid doing business with them and run away as fast as you can!

      We hate seeing this feedback from you. There was a couple of times your payment was not on time and a late fee was accrued, which we credited off for you. We also did not receive the letter you mailed to us wishing to cancel your account; however did credit off the open invoices backdating to the date that was on the letter that you emailed to us in July of 2023. We apologized for any inconveniences this may have caused you; however, we are at the mercy of the postal service. We wish you the best of luck with your future security company.

      Stay away from this company! My previous alarm monitoring company was bought out by Owen earlier this year. Soon after their taking over I received a letter from them telling me to fill out and return a written monitoring contract along with my bank account information for them to withdraw their monthly monitoring fee directly from my account. I called and questioned if there we other payment options and was told "no, automatic debit from my bank account was my only option. Because of this, I asked that they cancel my monitoring service and release the cellular unit so I could use my equipment with another company. Well, they cancelled the monitoring service but did not release the cellular unit. After numerous phone calls to the office asking for them to release the cellular unit, only to get a "we will check into that and get back to you" every time, I finally had someone put me on hold only to come back and tell me that her manager said that Owen does not release their units and that I would have to purchase a new system from a new company... it's their policy!

      If I could give is company a "0" rating I would. Don't do business with them. All they want is your money. Lately they don't call at all when my alarm goes off, but they send me a text message on my cell phone. First of all I have a land line specifically for the alarm system because I don't get good cell coverage in my home. Second I need them to act quickly and call, not text. I might not get the text and I don't need to spend the time answering them by text. I can picture someone robbing me in the middle of the night and me trying to find my cell phone, asking the thief, "Please wait a moment while I answer this text." Unfortunately I was with a small monitoring service before which was excellent, but the owner retired and sold his customer monitoring to Owens. I had no choice. I own my system. Paid over $2,000 for it over 10 years ago. I want to go with a much larger company that has better service and I can't switch the system over because they have an installer's lock code on my control panel and they won't give me the code to unlock the panel. So I can't use the system I own because they put a code in the program and they won't give me the code. This can't be legal. Now they want me to have a service man come out and change the code in the system and they are charging me $93.00 for something that they more than likely can do electronically from the office. I made the appointment. We'll see if they actually come out and do it. They are crooked as all get out. Who does this? They are holding my system hostage, because I want to change monitoring company's. Bad News!!!!!
