Keeps calling our office to verify employment - which we do not do over the phone - I give them our email address and they NEVER email us anything. Caller wanted to fax us something. We do not have a fax machine and I'm not taking to time to figure out how our fax-to-email program works because WE DO NOT USE FAX. They need to stop calling us. We will verify employment through email only.

Just recieved a call from them at my job. Inquiring about an employment verification, which was suspicious so my manager didnt give out any of my information, thank goodness! I havent initiated ANYTHING that would prompt this, and I feel like calling up random peoples places of employment and asking for their sensitive information is against the law somehow. I cant wait to get harassed by them again and again as others have mentioned.

I receive multiple calls each week from *** to verify employment. They do not have authorizations from the individuals they are trying to verify employment with. We have informed *** multiple times that we cannot provide the info to them without a signed authorization and to remove us from their call lists. They continue to call. I have contacted a Supervisor (*******) and she ensured me we would get no more calls. Lo and behold, this morning I got yet another call looking for verification with no authorization. I am tired of being harassed when I have asked nicely multiple times!

    Business Response

    Hello ********* *******,
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused. RNN Group is a third-party employment verification company that works on behalf of our clients to ensure the accurate and up to date employment.
The data we utilize is sourced from compliant and legally authorized providers, who collect information reported by individuals with a permissible purpose*. Our outreach to businesses is solely for the purpose of confirming employment status. Please be assured that we do not request salary or wage information, and we are committed to protecting everyones privacy throughout this process.
Thank you for allowing us time to investigate your complaint.  Our company is a nation-wide company that handles thousands of verifications a day. During our investigation we found that we had multiple clients that were looking to confirm multiple employees of yours.
Our supervisor ****** did initially shut down the account that asked for no more calls and noted what was needed.

When we received this voicemail from you on January 10th Hi! This is ********* ******* with medical solutions. I was just calling you back because I've spoken with you a couple of weeks ago. And supposedly you were a supervisor who was going to take care of Rnn. Contacting our company over and over again. I do not have a resolution to this. I just got another voicemail this morning from your company. The account number that they gave us was 3, 1, 7, 7, 2, 3. I'm sorry. *********** is what she gave us, or I guess **** ***** gave us when they left us a voicemail asking us to return their call. I'm not returning ******* call. I'm returning it to you because you informed me that you were going to have Rnn. Take us off of all their calling lists. Because, 1st of all, you guys never have an authorization which we have to have to release information. Secondly, all of our verifications go through a 3rd party which is verified today. So we've told you guys this. And you guys refuse to listen to this. We are at the point of harassment. I will be turning your company in if you do not get this taken ,it was immediately forwarded by ****** to Compliance at 11:51am eastern time.

Compliance did investigate and found the phone number that was called was due to multiple employment verification requests for different people by different clients. Compliance did make the decision to block all further numbers attempts at the number by adding your number to our Global Do Not Call. This was confirmed by our IT at 12:35pm on January 10th. No further calls have been sent out since we received your voicemail.

If there is anything more we can do to assist, please reach out below. The FastSupport email goes straight to the Director of Regulatory Compliance and the phone number goes to our floor manager.

I am rejecting this response because:  Our main number when you ****** Medical Solutions is ************** so I have no idea what number that is that you blocked.  We have multiple numbers for our company (local and toll free) as we service Aureus Medical, Host Healthcare, World Wide Health, and Matchwell.  I have no way of figuring out what all numbers your company calls in on without paying our IT department to dig into your company name/phone number and see if they can determine which all phone lines the calls are ringing in on.  Rather than blocking a single number, any time someone states they are trying to verify information for our company, the information that should pop up on your screen for your customer service agents is DO NOT CALL.  It is not our responsibility as a company to provide you information to get you to stop harassing us.

    Sincerely,

    ********* *******

    Business Response

We appreciate ********* ******** feedback and want to take this opportunity to address her concerns thoroughly.
After reviewing her response, we conducted additional research into the company she represents to ensure we are identifying the phone numbers we may have contacted. We have located three additional numbers associated with the company names that ********* ******* provided and have added them to our Do Not Call Database to prevent future calls.
Our calls are made as part of employment verifications conducted on behalf of our government, insurance, or other client organizations.. While we understand ********* ******** request to cease verification calls, we must clarify that we cannot control instances where her employees apply or have business with one of our clients, which may necessitate verification of the information.
To address her concerns further, we have informed our clients that her company requires a signed release to verify employment.
Should ********* ******* wish to discuss this matter further, have any other phone or business she wishes us to issue a stop call too, we encourage her to contact our Director of Regulatory Compliance at *************************************************************.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to resolve this matter.

RNN Group called my Wifes employer to verify my employment and then called right back to verify my employment. I have not worked for her employer. Neither of us applied for loans or any made any other submissions that would require a VOE. I was not informed that anyone would be doing a VOE and it is concerning that RNN Group has not reached out to us personally, nor did they disclose what company contracted them to handle this matter. It is very discerning that a company is seeking information about us and we have not been informed of this.

On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, RNN Group initially contacted us via fax to verify employment. Shortly after, they called requesting the same information over the phone. My secretary explained our company policy will not allow us to verify over the phone and said I was in the middle of payroll and would address it as soon as possible.About 15 minutes later, they called again, requesting verification over the phone again. We reiterated that we do not provide verification by phone, and they hung up. Later that afternoon, I attempted to send the fax, but it failed despite multiple attempts. On Thursday morning, December 19, 2024, RNN Group called again. I explained the fax hadnt gone through and asked if they had another fax number. The representative insisted on verbal confirmation, which I declined, repeating our policy. I am the HR Manager of a business and have received 2 emails from ************************************************* requesting employment verification for 2 separate employees. The first red flag is these employment verifications always go to our accounting department which are then forwarded to me. I'm sure most reputable companies know accounting does not handle employment verifications. The most recent one was today. The employee name and SS# do not match and the phone number listed in the email does not allow you to talk to anyone, so this is obviously a scam. The phone number listed in the email is ************. When I called the number, it said to press 1 if you are an employer calling to verify employment. When I pressed 1, I get a message that says "we are sorry, an application error has occurred, goodbye". So fake and sad they try to get information about people from their employers. Whoever this is needs to be shut down

    * The term permissible purpose is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) as a reason that a consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report to any person or organization. Additionally, any court can order a credit report as part of a judicial proceeding over which the court has jurisdiction. They do not need to ask for permission. Also, after meeting certain qualifications, a state or local child support enforcement agency can establish permissible purpose.
