Hired them to throughly clean up my ************ after recent *********************. Started great...ended terrible! They did a lot of work & wanted payment. Charged more than quoted. I pointed out what wasn't completed that we agreed to & they promised to be back to finish. Gave them check, trusting that they were honest & would return to complete. Texted them to see what time they were coming. They wanted more money! I reminded them I paid them more than quoted. Never came, ignored my texts. Nothing got done! Also did damage to my outdoor lights which they said they would take care of. No honesty or integrity!

We did a MAJOR storm cleanup to your property which was not only full of debris, but we pulled and sprayed ALL your overgrown weeds, we cleaned all the washed-up seaweed up your dock, we pushed all the washed-out rock back under your dock for $250. We quote you your palm trims at $25 PER tree (which you actually made me walk around the yard once the job was completed and count the palms because you did not agree that you had 36 palms, which you in fact do). We also removed a dead palm tree for $250. We took an entire dump trailer load of debris out of your property. The "NOT FINISHED" work was work that was never quoted and you wanted us to do at no additional charge. I told you I would come back to trim the specific trees you asked about, but it would be an additional fee, and you disagreed. We are not here to work for free and we certainly completed the job that we were hired to do. As far as your lights when we did a walk around of the property BEFORE the job was started I pointed out several broken lights and you said you were aware they were already broken and I will not be responsible for fixing something that we did not break. The ONLY thing that we did was move a kayak that was in the way of the palms that had to be CLIMBED and it did not get put back in the location. I will come and move it back to the original location. Your property was completely neglected for a very long time and we gave you an extremely good deal on the job that we did. I also answered all of your text messages UNTIL you demanded we did additional work free of charge.

I am rejecting this response because:
Many of the statements are false. Our agreement was to thoroughly clean trees of all dead brown branches which they neglected to complete. When I pointed out work not finished I was told that they would be back on Monday, no additional charge discussed! Lights were never discussed! I was never told upfront 25. per Palm tree, quote was 750. to clean palms! Then charged 900., so I questioned why additional charge. So just to clarify, I hired this company to completely clean up my yard & then maintain monthly. The traveler palms at back corner on roof are certainly part of thoroughly cleaning! What's really ridiculous is it's not that big of a job, probably could be done in 15 minutes! I paid this *** 1400. expecting all work to be done & it wasn't! Lights were broken, heavy kayak moved where it shouldn't be & didn't come back as agreed once they were paid! It was my mistake to pay them, to trust that they would be honest & return to complete the work I paid them to do. I didn't ask for free work!

    Sincerely,

Dean's Tree Services - complaint This company has been unresponsive and unwilling to live up to their promise. Several months ago, (July 19, 2021) I employed Dean's to trim hedges on my property. Their work was sloppy and I had to clean up after they left. That's when I discovered they burned holes in my lanai screens when their equipment came in contact with the screens. I informed them about the damage which they then inspected. They wrote me and authorized the repair work and promised to reimburse me for the damage. I paid $194 to have the screens repaired. The repair work was finally completed in December, due to labor shortages. I sent Dean's Tree Service copies of the repair bills. I have written and called repeatedly but have not received payment or any constructive response - except they said at one point (February 23) they forgot about it and would pay. On April 1, they said it was a rough week and they would send me the check. On April 15, they said it was sent to the wrong address. On April 25, they said the check was mailed. Now, 18 days later, I still have not received payment. I can't understand why they don't keep their word. Instead they are acting like they don't care about their customers. I have copies of all correspondence in which they acknowledged responsibility and agreed to pay for the damage. PostScript: I recently noticed that seven of the eight reviews on YELP included similar complaints: unresolved money issues or work left unfinished. Not a good track record!
