I have a seagate Ironwolf hdd that has failed and when contacting support(Multiple times) I was told that the drive was sold in the asian market as an OEM drive. This is not the case, as I purchased the drives in a retail store. Agent asked if I have the invoice. I do. No way for me to provide it to them was provided - just that they will not warranty replace the drive. I created my seagate account and the drive does show as no warranty - drive is about 2 years old and is well within warranty.I was told that the drive is not under warranty(drive has a 5 year warranty) and it is not being treated as a warranty claim.Business Response

On August 22nd, 2022, I purchased a Seagate FireCuda 530 4TB Internal *** to install in my new PS5 console. I received the **** installed it successfully per instructions in the PS5 manual, and left the console alone for about a month. When I finally started playing some games, my console shut down and reset several times before giving me an error message which stated that the internal *** had been removed without warning, even though it was physically still in the console. I removed the **** put it back inside, and attempted to reformat it only for the same thing to happen with the same error message.I contacted Seagate to initiate an exchange on October 10th, and was informed that, because this product is so expensive, I would need to troubleshoot the *** for them before an exchange could take place. I received no instructions on what info was needed or how to get it, and I am also not very tech savvy, but I tried to plug the *** into my computer only to nearly short it out somehow. I got the ** back up and running and decided against trying to do any more with my ** for fear of breaking it permanently.Over the course of these two weeks, I tried to send video footage of the PS5 with the *** installed, along with a photo of the *** port on my motherboard to show the issues I was having with fixing the *** in place. The temp file link for the video couldn't be opened per company policy, and neither could the photo attachment. I was then told to spend my own money on a USB adapter to try troubleshooting, and was given a request for the console video even though they already told me they couldn't open the files anyway.I'm done trying to troubleshoot for a multi-billion dollar company when the product I purchased isn't working and is within warranty, per their website. I was seeking a replacement, but now I just want a refund. I don't trust their hardware and I don't want to deal with them further should issues arise with a replacement.I want my money back.Business Response

Hello, i have purchased 4 (8tb) disks back then (less than two years ago), recently (less than 3 months ago) two of them started having problems, one of them has fatal errors, the other one is slowly starting to have ***** problems too.So i went and contacted Seagate for the warranty, it sure took some time (at least one month and that's without counting the month i went away for vacations) and they told me everything is good for the warranty but that i have to create an account so i went and created one even though i didn't want to create a useless account but i did so let's get my warranty but i went and done it and it didn't work, now support told me that since it is a purchase made in ****** i have to contact another number, after all this time, it is now that they tell me this...Now my time is precious and i really need to replace the disks so i'll ask Seagate to not be anti-consumer and respect the warranty and get my two disks replaced.Purchase at: Amazon (Canada) order #***-3701113-9741003 Date of purchase: February 12, 2021 P.N. for both disks: 2CX188 - 568 S.N. #1: ZCT33NMW S.N. #2: ZCT34T6D I simply want them two replaced, that's it that's all.Business Response

**************** is not good. I purchased a 2T hard drive. The hard drive failed after a few months. It was replaced, no problem. It failed again. I was 2 months over the warranty. They did not give me a full year warranty on it. The replacement failed out of the box. It will not come on at all. I was told by a ****** there at Seagate not to worry and they would send me another one including a return receipt so I would not have to pay for shipping. Cool. I then get a phone call from a company called Backblaze telling me I had to pay $1 to get my hard drive. Never heard of this company. I hung up on them. I then called customer service and they told me the same thing and that it would be credited back to me. I then get an email with a link on it saying it expires in one hour. Of course it is over an hour before I checked my email. The link shows I owe $19.49. That is way more than a dollar. Just want a hard drive that will work for more than a few months.Business Response

I purchase a Halo Edition 5Tb External HDD made by Seagate through Amazon.com on February 14, 2021. I opened and starting using this product in mid-November 2021. The product did not last even 1 year before it stopped working in July 2022. Seagate honored the products warranty for a replacement; however, they refuse to honor the *********** recovery plan that is included with the product. The included Rescue plan simply states, "included." It does not state a length of service nor an expiration date; this includes all fine print concerning this product. I simply wish to recover some pictures and videos from this hard drive via the "included" *************** but Seagate is refusing to honor this advertised service. Therefore, I am filing this complaint due to false advertising and failure to provide purchased services.Business Response

On 01/28/20 & 02/01/20, I placed orders ********************************* with **** for (3) Seagate HP Enterprise ST6000NM0115 drives that have the 3-year warranties and the warranty was the most important factor for this purchase. I registered the drives as I should on the Seagate website and all three drives showed they had the expected 3-year warranties. Just recently though, one of those drives failed so I contacted Seagate and was surprised to be told by Seagate that these drives are not valid and/or they will not provide the warranty because these drives were sold as a part of another system which voids their warranty. These drives were sold to me as Genuine Seagate products only to be denied by Seagate as not being Genuine even though their own website shows they are authentic drives that deserve the warranty that was expressly promised.Business Response
