The business collects a vast amount of personal credit card purchase information in exchange for and promising the ability to redeem for a monetary valued gift cards. Drop has implemented a 1 day/week at a specific time where cards with very limited inventory can be redeemed. During this time the app becomes unstable and crashes and all cards are no longer available within seconds. I have 63,313 points currently. The issue started initially when they were having their first financial troubles about a year and a half ago and I was trying to cash in for two gift cards. They weren’t transparent about the difficulties and just left them in limbo without redeeming them until much after the redemption period had passed one - but not the other - was finally sent to me. The point value of the other was in my account though and I remained hopeful that things would be resolved. Then they changed to the new system of the Thursday at 1 pm drops. I have signed in multiple times on many weeks, and never successfully been able to claim any so either a) there aren’t any or b) there is such a limited supply that it is completely insufficient to the demand as they are gone instantaneously. I’ve also asked for notifications from their app and never been notified. They offer points for gift cards, it is practically impossible to redeem these points. You have a 10-30 second window each week. You have to drop everything at 12:58 pm wait in a virtual line and try to get an undisclosed number of gift cards they “release” each week for a few seconds. i have emailed them about this before. ** ***** **** * **** I don’t know anybody that actually gets a gift card I think I’ve gotten one in about six months they’re also always pending points points they say you’ve earned but they don’t actually give you. I have about $100 in pending points and $60 in gift cards that I can’t redeem. They also offer offers for spending money at stores that they don’t always give you even if you spend at the stores, I think this is just a way to give your credit card number possibly if they don’t start actually giving out the gift cards beyond contacting you at the Better Business Bureau *** ***** ** ******* *** ***** ***** * ***** ******* ******** ********* I think they just want you to rack up points while they track your credit card number and get monetary benefits from the stores that they give your credit card number too so they can track your spending and then they don’t actually give you the rewards ever .Initial Complaint

Drop (aka Join Drop) is a business that promises rewards to consumers in exchange of their data, which they then sell to big box companies like ****** and ******. However, this company does not give out gift cards at all. Thanks for reaching out again.
I'd like to set the record straight on a few claims you made in your BBB complaint.
First, we are not now nor have we ever been a "pyramid scheme". We are a loyalty company that awards points for shopping with certain brands and completing surveys, and the points are convertible into gift cards. Our company is not structured as a pyramid scheme regardless of whether you include our member base in that schema or not.
Second, it is up to our members if they'd like to link their banking information or not. It's beneficial for members to link their cards as we have offers through which you can only earn points by spending with a linked card. However, you can also earn points by shopping through the in-app links in the 'Shop' tab where offers do not require members to spend using a linked card. There are also points to be earned by completing surveys which do not require making purchases, so by definition, no linked card is necessary here.
Third, we are indeed sending out gift cards. Thousands of members have been able to redeem their points successfully since the new gift card redemption process went into place on July 17th, 2023, and each member who has been able to successfully redeem their points has been issued a real, usable gift card loaded with funds. We cannot share information on these members as this would be a breach of privacy. If you choose not to believe that we have been sending out gift cards, there is no more proof than our word that we can offer.
I want to convey that the current redemption process is not the end of the line for how redeeming gift cards will evolve over time. We have heard a lot of feedback from our members following these redemption process changes and we are actively working on improving the experience for members. We recently released a change that successfully allowed members to redeem while encountering fewer or no errors along the way. This allowed members to redeem incredibly quickly and caused gift cards to sell out faster than expected.
There is currently no time limit on redemptions, we simply have the gift card drop running until the number of gift cards allotted to that day's drop runs out. It just so happens that so many members login to redeem at the same time that it has caused our gift card drops to end after less than a minute week after week. We recognize that this process is restrictive not only because some members' devices may be slower than others, but also because of the time at which the gift card drops take place.
I can assure you we are working to improve this process further. We are brainstorming and testing more changes we're hoping to release to members and we will of course communicate major changes to all members along the way.
At the moment, there is no update we can offer as to when the process will change. But please know that as soon as the redemption process is updated or changed in any way, we will be in touch with members either through the app, by email, or both.

I have contacted you before and I thought that this company solved the problem but they didn’t. I have earned $25.00 but you can only cash out once a week and when you try to cash out, all of a sudden all of gift cards are sold out. I have been trying to cash out for the past 4 months. I have been attempting to get my points redeemed through the Drop app that I earned from taking multiple surveys *** ****** ** ******** **** ** ** ***** I have been trying this for several months now, ever since there was an email sent out detailing that ******* *** **** **** *** *** *** ****** **** **** ****** the gift card redemption process would be changing. ever since I would say early summer, if not earlier, I have yet to redeem a single gift card, aside from one singular ****** gift card, in I think May. They have limited their redemption process to only be able to redeem once a week at a specific time on a specific day, and the gift cards that they provide are always sold out because of the people that are looking to redeem the few gift cards that they provide. Drop is a company that you link your credit card too and as you shop at their suggested stores they give you credits. Those credits can be turned into gift cards. I have 167,348 points. However, they only allow you to redeem for gift cards at 1:00 on Thursdays for 25,000 at a time. Points show they are worth $167.40 on the screen. They have changed their rewards on their app. Now instead of being able to redeem for a gift card anytime you have the points, they allow a number of them to be released on Thursdays at 2:30. Inhave been trying for 7 weeks and have never been able to claim.
