    This review is a caution to anyone considering using Canfield Construction. We had an absolutely terrible experience with them. Our project should have taken 3 months at most, if they had committed to actually working on it as agreed upon in the contract. Instead, it took more than 16 months. If I didn’t know construction, and I wasn’t continuously present, monitoring their every move, we would not have gotten what we ordered. They outright LIED multiple times. The quality of construction was appallingly poor. The workers they assigned to our job site were not knowledgeable in the type of construction our project required, and we know this because the workers actually said so while being very uncomfortable with their inexperience. They made so many mistakes – some we called them out on and they fixed, but most we just took apart and re-did ourselves, at our own expense. Some mistakes couldn’t be fixed and we had to alter our plans to accommodate their ineptitude. They left a giant gaping hole in our house for the entire winter. We had to build a temporary wall, at our own expense, which caused our heating bill to skyrocket. Also, because they didn’t seal off the siding on the outside, we had a squirrel get into the house, along with mice and other varmint. Our construction project was an absolute nightmare. I wouldn’t recommend this business for any construction project, ever. They lack integrity, honesty, professionalism, quality, and pride in workmanship. The only reason they are getting 1 star from us is because zero stars isn’t an option.
