We do not recommend using Cleary. They started construction before bringing out a temporary restroom. On the first day, an employee asked to use our home bathroom and spit chewing tobacco into a house plant. It smelled for months. It took Cleary nearly a year to complete a simple 40'x44' barn shell. We are still picking up cigarette butts, metal pieces and waste screws the various crews left behind.

We have followed up on the comments and critique from our client. The branch manager and ******* were interviewed to find out what went on at this jobsite. There was a delay in getting the "porta potty" delivered to the site from the sub-contractor. It was not delivered the first day of starting the building, and it was delivered to the project site on the 2nd day. Additionally the building crew has been talked to about the "chew in the house plant" issue. They have reported that no one on this crew chews tobacco. Our branch manager is calling the client to schedule time to get back to the building site and pick up any remaining screws etc. Which per policy should have been done before the crew completed the project. We chose Cleary because we wanted to support an established, reputable American company. The joke is on us. Our building site has been ready since July 3rd, 171 days ago. The building was supposed to be finished in August. Then we were told September. Then it was October. Then it was November. The timeline kept creeping back without explanation. They put our project “on hold” and put other people’s timelines ahead of ours, but without telling us – the date in our contract would come and go and we would have to chase them down for answer. Our salesperson manipulated timelines and advanced projects ahead of ours and, of course, lied to us about it. He was ultimately terminated, but absolutely nothing was done to make things right with us or to compensate for several months of delay—despite assurances from our new salesperson, John, that the project would get back on track. We escalated our issue to Brian at corporate, who replied once referring us to Clint (the regional manager) and then stopped responding (see photos). Clint never responded at all. Now the half-finished building sits. We were really excited to be done by the fall so we could store all of our things and get situated before the cold. We were told it would take around 10 days to build. The materials were delivered right before Halloween. Now, it’s almost Christmas. 52 days and counting since they dropped everything off, while we pay thousands extra in storage fees. Now it’s too cold to pour concrete, meaning several more months of storage fees. They like to blame the weather. They leave for weeks at a time, and take their equipment with them, and tell us we’re the only job they’re working on. It’s all lies. Plenty of dry, sunny days (and dry, cold days, like today) have come and gone with no crew in sight. They are working on other jobs because again, ours is not important enough to finish with any semblance of urgency.Cleary Building Corp.

We are following up further with our client to address a restart date on this project. There have been issues involving a workable project site due to weather and site conditions. 5 starsWorking this build with Cleary Building was one of the Best experiences we have ever had in construction, over the past 40+ years. We can honestly say, we have no complaints what-so-ever. Brandon **, based out of ***** ****** ***** was on 'top of everything'. He kept us informed on the progress, and he was 'up front and honest' with us throughout the entire project. The building turned out Beautiful! It is a well built building and the crew did a fantastic job! We had Cleary Building out of ***** ***** ** build us a 66x80 pole barn in 2018 and the roof has leaked since it was built. Numerous phone calls & we can not get them to come back and fix it. Very poor customer service.Cleary Building Corp.

We have a $6,000 deposit with Cleary since 2021. We left a message with a woman who answered the phone and requested that sales rep Dan call us immediately as we were closing on our new construction for home the next day. Dan never called. Ever. We now have the funds to put up our 36 x 64 foot horse barn and I’m afraid to use the company. Reviews are horrible and we can’t afford problems after waiting so long. Forfeiting our deposit maybe the best financial decision and going with a company with better reviews.Cleary Building Corp.

We are not 100% clear on the context of our complaints pertaining to this issue. Back in 2021 we did sign a contract with this client, and they did make a partial final payment at that time. Then they realized that they could not get the full down payment, and full monies for the project, and we refunded their partial down payment to them. We had not heard from them since until this message in regards to their interests in pursuing to proceed on the project again until today. We have since made contact with the client and we are attempting to move the project forward. As far as the comment about horrible reviews, etc., our company has been in business for over 47 years and we have constructed almost ******* projects during that time. And we have an A+ rating from the BBB. We are not perfect, but our track record speaks for itself.Review fromAdrienne W

Absolutely no response from this company. Would not respond to us or our client, who has a Cleary building but wanted to make some changes. We will order from elsewhere. Good to see the other reviews. We thought it was just an isolated event (i.e., just us) but there are big problems here and Cleary cannot excuse them away.Cleary Building Corp.

We made are final payment today. it’s been 9 months of misery. the crew showed up 1 month late. When the crew showed up they were extremely disrespectful demanding we be at his beck and call and informing us he was going to live in a tent at are ranch. After the shed was erected, we noticed it was leaning 6 inches to the east. We contacted the regional manager he was extremely unprofessional told numerous bold face lies after complaining to three different AA foreman they decided they needed to pull the shed back into place while doing so they cracked two trusses, and let the the roof tin blow all over the ranch which took out fence. After completion of the building we found the posts are not plum or straight dented tin on the roof, mismatch colored screws and personal garbage all over the job site. On completion day the crew confronted my wife demanded money with out a final inspection or he was going to start tearing the shed down I do not recommend ClearyCleary Building Corp.

We have addressed the items that needed to be addressed involving the quality concerns of the project, and also involving the required service work to conclude the project. I am in the middle of construction and I am already disgusted with the management and the lies. It is the middle of November and I was “verbally “ promised it would be done in July when we signed the contract in March. I was also told that it would take about 2 weeks once the crew started. Well it is 4 weeks in the build and the building is only half done. I complain to our Cleary rep Steve P***** and I get more excuses. The Forman calls in sick and the whole job gets shut down. 3 times in a week he has called in. I am in construction and I will definitely be telling everyone to stay clear of Cleary as they don’t honor their word or their guarantee. As of late, in the construction industry as of late there are difficulties of procuring materials as well as the difficulties of the current labor pools. We looked into the processing of the job and notice that there are change orders reconfiguring the design of the building as late as month prior to shipping which involves a redesign and rerun through our purchasing ***** Some amount of delays should be expected. These changes were initiated after the July date mentioned. We cannot predict when an individual will be ill. However, we will have a Region Manager reach out to assist.Review fromJesse W

I had a building built October of 2023. In Wisconsin. The building is built solid the crew that put it up was good. But the sales rep I had sucked and the customer support sucks. Seems they are more interested in taking your money before seeing if you’re happy with the building . They were asking for final payment before the building was finished and the second it was done they had their palm in your face !! I’m happy with the building but I think I would have looked at a couple other options if I had to do it againCleary Building Corp.

We are in receipt of this customers review. The building is completed and the client has paid in full which we appreciate greatly. As we understood the situation, our client does not live in the area where the building was built. The sales person on the job contacted the client preemptively to arrange a site meeting to walk through the building knowing the building would be complete within the next couple days. We did not intend to come off as assertive as we did, and our only intention was to schedule an appointment to look over the finished project knowing ahead of time that the client would need to schedule accordingly since they were coming from out of town. We appreciate the clients business and are pleased to hear they are happy with the building.
