Nightmare. Originally hired for mold remediation, we decided to use JG for water restoration after a dishwasher leak. The initial crew was helpful, and based on good reviews, we felt confident. JG seemed sympathetic and started mitigation quickly, which began our displacement in late June 2024. Unfortunately, communication between JG and our insurance (State Farm) dragged on for 6–8 weeks, leaving us without housing—at one point with a 10-month-old. Work resumed mid-August and we were told 99% would be done by 10/26 when we moved back in. That was far from true. JG’s workers poorly reassembled our kitchen: it was uneven, doors installed backward, cabinets cracked, counters botched, and they left the house filthy. I had to clean up after them every time. The third-party contractors were worse. The tile backsplash was uneven, cracked, and poorly finished—caulk cracked quickly, grout left dirty, and outlet covers wouldn’t lay flush. Flooring was sloppily installed with gaps, scratches, glue residue, and loose areas. Again, I was left cleaning up their mess. These contractors wouldn’t respond to fix anything, so JG brought in a new, more competent one who corrected most of the issues. However, the laminate countertop edges—cut improperly by the original crew—were never fixed. They were sloppily painted white, which looked worse. Chad Pansier, the project manager, just sanded off the paint and called it done. Chad was rude to me in person and via text, only polite to my husband. He was a poor communicator, often saying work would happen that didn’t. I prepped the house multiple times for nothing. He also downplayed our concerns until the new contractor stepped in. After agreeing on an estimate in August and paying half up front, we received a “past due” invoice in January 2025—$1,200 higher than agreed. No discounts were offered despite delays, damage, or unfinished work. They broke an $80 blind and credited only $50. We paid just to be done. Do not hire them.

While I thought the quote included everything we had agreed on, apparently I was wrong. Extra labor got added and extra square feet on the application of spray. Oddly enough all these extras added up to the amount on the line on the quote for moving stuff, which I had done myself to save some money. Also, the crew showed up with little to no idea what work was to be done. They were nice enough but I'm not sure they really cleaned anything, since when I went to check after they left, there were clumps of soaked dryer lint all over the floor.

*****,We did provide an estimate for a small scope of work that we intended to perform but when we are asked to perform work outside that scope it is natural to expect changes in charges for said work. We are always happy to take care of our customers concerns and added scope of work. In a normal situation we would have provided a change order however when jobs are under $1000 we feel the extra steps are just cumbersome. We wish that we could have had a conversation regarding our final billing before filing a complaint with the BBB. There really is no reason it has to be like this as we have zero issues working out our differences especially on something so small. We would ask that we get the chance to resolve this matter so could you please reach out to your project manager? I do know that calls have been placed without a response. Thanks again for the work!
