Back in 2020 My roomate and I went to The Anytime Fitness in Orting WA and purchased a Membership. To My understanding it was month by month, however I am awaiting a copy of the contract from both privately owned location as well as the **** Later that year, Possible into 2021 we both moved from orting and at the same time we both Cancelled our memberships. Just yesterday I received notification to My Credit Report that a New Collection has been added for 297 dollars, and lists AnyTime Fitness as the Original Creditor. Now upon Research, I had emails in my spam from November/December from *** but zero phone calls or messages to my number they have on file. I accept the fact that a reoccurring bill for 50 dollars every month is unusual, however I have never had a reason to closely monitor my accounts. That being said, 3 years after cancellation at 50 dollars a month is about 1800 dollars paid. While I would love for that to be refunded, My primary concern is the removal of this collection from my account a letter of apology from AnyTime Fitness. Very Reasonable.I have disputed the account with the bureaus, If with-in the 30 day dispute it is "Confirmed With Creditor" or it doesnt fall off I will have to continue consultation with ************* As this will endure more time and effort, I will be requesting more than just a credit report fix and letter of apology. Thank you for your time reading this, no point in posting to the Privately owned Location as it is not accredited.

I signed up for anytime fitness under the assumption of a cancel-any-time subscription service. upon realizing it was a 2 year contract of $40 a month, I called to attempt canceling. My options presented were to pay $1,000 to cover the rest of the contract (and not use anytime fitness' services unless I started another contract/subscription), OR stay in the contract over the next 2 years and pay it off that way. They did however, let me pause the contract for up to 3 months, but said it would extend my contract by that amount of time. Either option gave me what is in practice a $1,000 debt that I cannot pay in full and will financially burden me as I go on to attend college. The main website to sign up is also vague in it's wording and misleading in it's design. I legitimately cannot find how to cancel in their terms and conditions. I had to sign up to actually be emailed how I can cancel and 2 of the options are "death" and "totally disabled" but of course they have to examine you with an agreed upon physician just to make sure

long story short i had a 18 month contract with my husband, I called to cancel my account , they told me it would have to be written form so I would have to go in. I go in, they tell me I have 1 more month of my contract left so I will come back to avoid a fee of stopping early. I come back they tell me you and your husband have to pay an additional month (basically because they want us to have access to the gym) makes no sense. So I sign the paper knowing they are going to charge my account so it doesnt get sent to collections. My frustration is that i was out of contract, coming in before the deadline of payment and they make up a reason to charge my account for another month. *** already tried to dispute because they cant extend my contract just because they want to. But they chargeback me which will then once again affect my credit. You cant take advantage of people like this. I would like a refund for paying the last month when I was canceling before the payment period because I was no longer in contract. Again I was aware of what I was signing only because I did not want this going to collections. Amount owed is mine and my husbands membership dues for 1 month .
