    I rented a storage unit from Devon from June, 2021 thru March 29, 2023. I checked out as I was leaving the lot on the 29th of March. I was told that I had a refund of $21.00 coming and it would be mailed to me. A month later, I had not received the refund and so I called Devon and was told that they had processed the refund and thought it would be paid out automatically but it was not. The person on the phone then said I would receive in about 7 days...I did not. I called back at about the 6 week **** and was told that I was being impatient, and ultimately, she hung up on me. At this point, it has been more than two months and I still have not received my money. I have called the **************** in **********, ** twice. I spoke with someone once who called me back the second time I called and she said I would get a call back by last Friday, I didn't. I just want my money refunded, and with interest now, if I am legally entitled. I don't even know when the overpayment took place. It would have been so simple for them to credit me for the next month.

    The customer was told in error after we were able to confirm if the customer was not able to recieve a refund. The person that told her about the refund was incorrect do to the point we do not prorate out of the unit at moveout. To fix the issue we went out of our own pockets and sent her a money order of the amount in question. Since the system would not let me generate a refund request for the customer.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    this is the FIRST I have EVER heard anything about there being a mistake on Devons part!!

    I was never told when or how the over-payment occurred which is why I acknowledged in my complaint that I did not know if interest was appropriate.

    I was paid through the end of the month and I did check out two days early, but that was my choice and I never expected, nor asked for a refund for those two days.

    However, now I dont know if I can trust these people. All this time after repeatedly telling me the check was being processed and that they didnt understand why it hadnt produced, and this is what they managed to come up with?? How can I be sure this is the truth?

    wouldnt it have been so simple to tell me, we made a mistake and then to explain the mistake?

    instead, I was given anger and insults, but NO explanation!

    There is no way this situation should have gone this far. I definitely feel disrespected.

    there is no excuse for a legitimate business to allow this type of thing to happen.
