****** replaced the spark plugs in my X5 and charged me $739.47 (which included 4 hrs. of labor). ************** charges $372. for spark plug replacement. I am a victim of price gouging. I called ****** and asked for a $367. refund. ****** replied, "You are f***ing ******* me off," and hung up on me. This was said in front of my 10 year old child.

    To Whom it concerns

My name is ***************************, owner of Accurate ***************, it has been brought to my attention that ************************* has filed a complaint with BBB regarding a repair performed at our facility.
I would like to explain my side of the story. *************** had her vehicle towed to our facility on 12/22/23 without speaking to anyone here or making any appointment. I called *************** when I found her vehicle parked on the side street of my facility and asked her why her vehicle was here? She stated she had gotten stuck and needed it repaired. I had my technician perform diagnostics on her *** for a crank no start conditions. My technician performed a complete vehicle scan which was attached to the invoice when *************** picked up her vehicle. My technician performed a fuel pressure test, compression test, spark and injector pulse test and found the vehicle flooded (excessive fuel in spark plugs and faulty spark plugs, and found engine oil contaminated with fuel). Technicians also found low compression on four of the six cylinders, excessive fuel in cylinder walls washed out cylinder piston rings. I spoke with *************** explained what we had found for no start conditions and also had diagnosed the vehicle with faulty mass air flow sensor and torn crankcase hose when performing intake smoke test. ( i will attach the vehicle diagnostics report with original trouble codes to this email).
I gave *************** an estimate to perform all necessary repairs in order to get her vehicle in good running conditions, *************** opted to only authorize partial repairs to her vehicle. She did not want to spend any more money on this vehicle she stated. She authorized $739.47 which was the estimate to diagnose and get the vehicle back on the road, I called her when the vehicle was completed, she picked up the vehicle and paid in full, *************** seemed like she was another happy customer. A few days later i received a call from *************** accusing me of price gouging, she stated that i had charged her $739.47 just to replace spark plugs on her vehicle. That is not the case i charged her 4 hours of labor to perform all necessary tests for a Crank No Start Condition and the labor to install spark plugs which is 1.3H per Alldata labor guide. *************** stated she called a *** dealer, and they would charge her a fraction of what i had charged her. I explained to *************** again that what we charged her was for diagnosing and repairing her vehicle for no start conditions and explained all tests performed and repairs performed. She threatened me that she would ruin my business on social media if I didn't reimburse her money. Yes, she got me very upset my accusing me of price gouging and other unpleasant things she called me.
I also wanted to add she had her vehicle serviced here on 07/14/2022 for an alternator, oil change and light bulb replacement. *************** also stated that the repairs we performed on 07/14/22 were the cause of the vehicle breaking down on her second visit when she had it towed in on 12/22/2023 which i also explained to her the alternator had nothing to do with the issue she came in for.
I would also like to add that I have been in business for 22 years now and run an honest repair facility, this is the first time I have had an incident like this, Accurate *********** Ins is a 4.9 Star repair facility on ******* my reviews speak for themselves I did not price ***** *************** nor i price ***** any customer....  I simply repaired her 2006 *** X5.

If i can assist you with any other information i would be more than happy.

    Thank you
    ***************************
