This company did an inspection on my new home. Paid $1750+ for the inspection and the missed MANY major issues. After settlement, roughly two months later, contacted them informing them of the many issues they didn't catch (which were costly $7,500+). Spoke w ******, she sent someone out. He documented everything via photos, video. Never heard another word from them. Got every excuse in the book (covid, lack of staffing) from ******. Received a call from their insurance carrier in California. That process started in January 2022. My case was bounced around to now three individuals; still no resolution or correspondence. Beware of this company. Sad that a local business treats customers this way.

      RE:  Complaint #********

In response to the above noted complaint:

Complainant reached out about items she felt were missed during the original home inspection.  Our Director of Operations went to the property within 24 hours of first contact to personally view and record the issues.  We reviewed the inspection report and confirmed that our initial findings, included in the provided report were in fact included in the report covered the items of concern.

During the original inspection our certified inspector called out over 60 major health and safety defects as per the **************** of Home Inspectors (****), which defines our industry's standards of practice. Our inspector also noted 16 major Electrical safety defects with instructions to have repairs as required by a licensed electrician for safety and noted that should be done prior to settlement of the home.

As professional inspectors, we make recommendations both in our report and verbally to help the client understand any health or safety defects in the home.  It is incumbent upon the client to follow up on these action items as prescribed in writing, and verbally.

After our follow up visit and detailed review of our findings, as is part of our practice, we turned the issue over to our errors and omissions insurance carrier for evaluation. It was determined by them that the inspection was executed within the expectations of our industry, and within the scope of work for a professional home inspection and the claim was denied.

Subsequent to this, the complainant has called us out on social media and now to the Better Business Bureau.  We feel this is unacceptable as the complaint was handled in the most competent, and expedient manner.

We hope that this clarification is helpful.
