I live in a mobile home which I own and pay all taxes on but pay rent for the lot in ******** ***********. In mid-November my landlord said that a tree I planted 20 years ago must be removed at my expense. It had gotten too large. I contacted J&L Lawncare and Trees and received an estimate, in writing, for the tree removal and hauling away of debris from a large shrub removed prior. Brush pile was $150, and tree was $350 for a total of $500. On November 7, 2022, **. ***** and his crew came and took down the tree. After the tree was down, he advised me that due to the yard between my mobile home and the neighbors from his equipment he wanted to wait until the ground froze to remove the brush. I understood his concern and told him that was agreeable as my deadline from the landlord was April 1, 2023. I had already filled out the check for the total amount for $500. and believing **************** reasonable reason I told him I would pay him the whole amount and since I was having cataract surgery in both of my eyes in Nov. and Dec. I was agreeable if he came at any time prior to April 1st to complete the job. I did not start worrying until the end of Feb. I called **. ***** to remind him that the work had to be completed and it was paid for already. several times I was assured he had not forgotten and would be here soon. Now we are into March and most of my calls are ignored with the message: mailbox is full." Or a recorded message to leave a message. This went on until I suspected he was blocking my calls. I called his number and received the message "mailbox full." I had a friend call him immediately after from his cell phone and **. ***** immediately picked up the call. After some discussion **. ***** assured **** he and his crew would be out in the next two weeks. That was on March 30, 2023. I have not seen, nor have I been able to contact **. ******
