    I received a bill from Three Rivers Diagnostics dated 5/2/2023. The bill is relatively expensive for a lab charge, and the only descriptor in the bill states "Pharyngitis." The bill contains no description of the tests performed, no breakdown of expenses, no codes associated with the tests, nor any indication of whether my insurance company was contacted to process payment directly or not. After receiving the bill, I attempted to contact Three Rivers Diagnostics billing department 3 times on separate dates during their stated business hours in order to clarify these unresolved questions. All 3 calls went to voicemail, and Three Rivers Diagnostics never responded to my voicemails. Recently, Three Rivers Diagnostics has passed the bill off to a debt collector. Three Rivers Diagnostics has never attempted to contact me to resolve my questions. They have also never sent me a follow-up bill in addition to the single, initial bill which does not explain any of the charges. I fear that the choices made by Three Rivers Diagnostics may now lead to unfair damage to my credit rating in addition to the unfair billing practices they have imposed, their lack of response regarding my billing questions, and their lack of willingness to explain charges in their bill.

    Good morning, the description - pharyngitis, is for COVID-19 and strep testing. The patient was swabbed at a facility on 11/22/2022 and 1/29/2023, these swabs were sent to our laboratory for testing. The insurance company that this patient uses sends checks directly to the patient for lab services, these checks are to be forwarded to the lab to cover costs. The collection company reaches out to patients to try and get these matters resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience in reaching our billing vendor, and we are now working with them to improve communication. They reached out to the patient on 2/6/2024 and left a voicemail.
