I hired this moving company that claims all of their employees are trained and skilled full time workers. When I hired the company they never stated that it would be a 16 foot box truck that the $425 base price was based off of. Every company I've worked with in the past has always based their prices off of a 20+ foot truck. The movers arrived in a 16 foot box truck that did not have a gate that closed all the way and what appeared to be a rotting wood bed. The mover claimed their other truck was in the shop and asked if they could "throw some trash" in my dumpster. I agreed assuming it would be a couple bags. They dumped an entire living room couch and chair set next to my dumpster and left it there. The movers removed all of the drawers from my brand new bed frame and dresser and none of them close now, some pieces are ripped off the bottom of the drawers and the damage is beyond repair to both the dresser and the bed frame. The base of my night stand was pulled off slightly in transit and my full length mirror is scratched up the side. Couch is ripped. The walls in my apartment are scratched, gouged, and damaged. The stairs leading to the loft all need to be replaced from the damage of dragging either my desk or my cabinet up them. This is a brand new apartment and those were brand new items. It should be noted on top of the illegal dumping, I also had to purchase gas for the movers who "forgot their gas card" and I had to purchase moving straps. I want the cost to repair all of the damage to my apartment paid for, the cost to replace the large dresser and bed frame that are now unusable paid for, and a refund for the second payment of $375 that the owner (Thomas G*****?) forced me to pay by threat of withholding my belongings despite me bringing up the damages to him, the fact that it should've been a single trip in 20+ foot box truck, and only a single trip that had to be two because their truck was "in the shop." The bed is 399 + tax and dresser is 419 + tax.
