I've been dealing with a lot of concerns about my school triangle tech and their favoritism special privileges that has cost me to fail projects and embezzlement We have been forced to do projects with very little to no practice and minimal materials to use I my self had to buy my own parts to go with their welders and it's hard to get a replacement part when the school comes up empty handed we are rushed through math class and I've reached out to get help and I get no ware anything the school gets that's new gets handed over to the assistant directors daughter in-law my class gets to have a pot luck day while the rest of the school didn't and I was yet again forced to fail because I didn't want to take part being unfair and I was only able to take 15 minutes of my scheduled lunch break and try to finish the project on my lunch break when we were told from the very start if we had our class work done and a instructor was in the shop and was ok with it to get a project finished you were allowed I wasn't I was failed for a project at the end of my scheduled lunch break because of my classes special privileges I didn't really want to participate especially when we didn't do anything the rest of the day other instructors have been questioning the whole fact of embezzlement as well with the lack of material and maintenance of the equipment I still have to contact a civil court for the harassment and lack of compassion that has effected me while they knew about my mental disorder that completely gets ignored I honestly feel like I'm waisting my time anymore since I'm not getting the education and help I need from the school it's like I got played. I've been dealing with a great deal of negativity in my personal life as well trying to get out of a toxic situation all documented with the school. I tried to do the best I could with no experience and with what little was given. I definitely feel wronged especially for how much I have to pay back.Business Response
Date: 09/19/2023
This is in response to the complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau by *** ******* ******* *** ****** is no longer enrolled at Triangle Tech due to his enrollment being terminated by school administrators for violation of Triangle Tech’s attendance policy. *** ****** had a last date of attendance of August 25, 2023, at which point he stopped attending Triangle Tech.
I thank the Better Business Bureau for the opportunity to respond to *** ******** complaint.
The following response will address each of *** ******** allegations.
*** ****** asserts that Triangle Tech practices “favoritism and special privileges” that has cost him to fail projects and “embezzlement.”
To the contrary, Triangle Tech has not engaged in any type of “favoritism” nor do we grant “special privileges” to anyone. *** ****** provides no context or examples of his allegation, so we are not able to comment further. Also, we have no idea what *** ****** *s referencing to as “embezzlement,” but suspect it is just a misuse of the word.
*** ****** alleges that he “had to buy (his) my own parts “to repair Triangle Tech Welding machines.” The allegation is simply absurd. Students have no occasion in which they would ever be expected, much less required, to buy replacement parts for Triangle Tech equipment.
The fact is, that Triangle Tech sent the welder that was broken to S & S Electric for repairs as we do with all welding machines requiring repairs. Also, if repairs are going to take extra time, Triangle Tech replaces the unit which is out for repairs with working welding machines from our inventory of spare welding machines. Students are not required to pay for repairs or provide spare parts for repairs under any normal circumstance.
*** ****** alleges that “we are rushed through math class” which is false. Triangle Tech curriculum is defined by a syllabus and daily schedule which consists of a standardized regimen of lessons. All Triangle Tech programs and courses are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and meet all credit hour requirements. No student is “rushed through” any class.
*** ****** alleges that “I’ve (he) reached out to get help and I (he) got nowhere.” In fact, *** ****** requested help in Math on one occasion and *** ******* his math teacher, offered him tutoring on multiple occasions but he would not schedule a time to meet with her. Eventually he had one meeting with *** ****** on August 23, 2023 wherein she made him aware that she was available to tutor him up to 4:00 pm daily, but he never took the opportunity to take advantage of it. Rather he often made excuses as to why he was unable to stay.
*** ****** alleges that “anything the school gets that is new is handed over to the Assistant Director’s ***************.” While we have no idea what he is talking about, it is important to note that the Assistant Director has no **************** much less one who is enrolled in Triangle Tech.
With regard to the part of *** ******’s complaint about a “pot luck day” and his failure to finish his project on time is a complete “the dog ate my homework” story. I will not dignify that part of his complaint with any further comment. Once again, I would point out his use of the word “embezzlement” which again, appears to be a misused word.
*** ****** goes on to talk about going to Civil Court for “harassment” and “lack of compassion.” While we have no idea what he is talking about, Triangle Tech has not engaged in “harassment” or “lack of compassion” toward anyone, including *** ******.
With regard to *** ******’s allegation that he has a “mental disorder” that gets “completely ignored,” Triangle Tech has not received any medical documentation of a mental disorder, nor do we have any medical documentation regarding medications for anything, including a mental disorder.
Triangle Tech has not ignored *** ******** condition, we simply have no information documenting that a mental disorder exists. *** ****** did ask school administrators at one point whether he could take anxiety medication. When asked if the medication would cause impairment while in class, *** ****** responded, “It is marijuana.”
Contrary to the claims that *** ****** makes in his complaint, we have made numerous attempts to help *** ****** succeed at Triangle Tech. *** ****** was advised and issued a Notice of Poor Attendance or Attendance Probation on the following dates: 3/28/23, 4/19/23, 7/11/23, and 7/17/23. *** ****** was advised, issued a Notice of Poor Work or Academic Probation, and offered tutoring on the following dates: 4/19/23 and 5/2/23. The probationary system is used at Triangle Tech to inform students of their progress and make an attempt to remediate the situation.
*** ****** was issued a Notice of Behavioral Probation for his actions on 5/29/23 in which he was loud, yelling, and disrespectful to the Director of the school. Despite his behavior, which was grounds for the termination of his enrollment, *** ****** was permitted to remain in school and issued a Notice of Behavioral Probation.
It is also important to note that *** ****** was on Financial Aid Probation during the Summer 2023 semester for failing to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress for two consecutive semesters. *** ****** was able to maintain his Financial Aid eligibility after filing a success appeal. Triangle Tech’s Executive Director of Financial Aid and Director of School Operations and Student Affairs personally assisted *** ****** with filing the appeal.
I will close by saying this, *********** enrollment in Triangle Tech was terminated on August 31, 2023 by school officials due to *** ******’s violation of Triangle Tech’s attendance policy. I have attached the appropriate documentation for your review.
