This company, a public traded company, touts themselves as the "all-knowing" when it comes to the validity of a research journal. What they do is place a journal on hold due to "raised concerns", but they do not tell the journal publisher the reason, they don't tell the researchers looking for their research published with those ***************s the reason they can no longer find their articles, they pull it all down and then they do not reach out to the journal to seek information or offer ANY insight on why the on hold status is being given. There is zero transparency with this company and meanwhile, medical research journals are losing quality content because some institutions require them to be present in Web of Science. They cause emotional strain on some researchers who are in the end processes of their education where their institution requires them to publish in a journal listed in Web of Science. Most of those researchers do not have the time or resources to pull their article from an *************** to place them in another. Where is Clarivate's accountability for releasing information on the status of ***************s? Why aren't they working with journals to help them understand the reason for the status or help them make improvements if they are needed. And why does the review of on hold journals take so very long? I've seen a couple of journals take months and months. It is completely ridiculous that they have this much control over the fate of researchers and journals. And what about helping with the open access policies? The *** requires open access publishing and free sharing of research when any research uses their grants - that's not possible with this company. So how about it, Clarivate? How about some transparency? Maybe they're too busy making profits (yes, publicly traded...selling software and other things) to actually be interested in the dissemination of open access research. Thank goodness our insti..doesn't care any longer!
