They were completely unprofessional. Went to have used tranny put in my low mileage 17 yr old 1 owner vehicle, we purchased a used tranny, and they took out the original and installed the used. After the original issue continued to occur after pickup, we called and questioned, it was only then that they admitted they took one problematic transmission out, and knowingly installed what they knew was another bad tranny and chose not to call and discuss nor disclose this very important detail before/after installation or pickup. We do not understand why the company could not have just be honest with us as their customers about it BEFORE they installed it, we failed to receive what should have been a helpful advice and qualified automotive/ transmission repair/replacement. According to the other reviews we have since read online; this is not the first time this company has chosen to do this type of shoddy business with their customers. We would like others to not be put into this situation ever again.

Hello my name is James W**** from Plotts Transmission Service and I received a letter about a complaint. In response to complaint #********. This customer brought in his vehicle with an internally damaged transmission. We advised him that we could rebuild his transmission and he would have a 12 month/12,000 mile guarantee. At first he gave us the go ahead to fix the truck. A day later he called and informed us that he ordered a transmission from a junkyard and that it will be getting shipped to our garage. He opted to go that route to save money on repair.

Any warranty with the transmission would be his responsibility with whomever he purchased it from. There is no warranty on the transmission for just installing it. If the transmission failed he needs to contact the seller of the transmission. When we finished installing the transmission he got, it worked perfectly. We would have advised him at the time if it wasn't working correctly because we knew he was driving several states away with it after it was finished. He may have a warranty on the transmission itself but we do not know. If we would have gotten the transmission for him then we would contact who we bought it from to get it replaced with another one, but the vehicle would have to be brought back to our shop.

He called us when he was several states away explaining that he had an issue with the transmission and I advised him to call the junkyard that he purchased it from and we could go from there. We never heard anything back from the customer after that. Bottom line it was his decision to go with a used transmission and not get it rebuilt with a guarantee.
