Starting with 10/21/23, initial scope that James wrote on 10/20/23 was not as we talked about. Revised quote increased from $15,500 to $20,500 to pave additional area. Started clearing topsoil for new driveway (10/21/23) and was not cleared per our discussion, it was to be centered on the garage door and through the existing pine trees that were to be removed. I accepted the area beside the pine trees but not the path by the garage door, he was to fan out the area by the garage concrete pad but did not even after James said he would. On 10/22/23 after James installed the stone base I again expressed that the path by the garage pad needed to fan out to cover the concrete pad. On 10/23/23 after the initial driveway path was installed it was horribly uneven and was not in a straight line, it went out of a straight line approximately 18" between both sides. I expressed my frustrations again that the sides need to be even and straight, James said he would fix it and make it right, he blamed the asphalt machine for swerving. James used a chop saw to try and make a straight line but still was not straight, he cut it again and still not straight. I painted lines on the ground (10/23/23) where he was not to go past with the asphalt, but he went past and now the asphalt is on another persons property on 10/24/23. On 10/24/23 before work started an employee asked me what needed done to repair the edges of the main driveway, I recommended installing a new asphalt edge down both sides of the driveway and still needed to fan out the asphalt by the concrete pad. He called James the owner and relayed my recommendations. James showed up and started installing the asphalt for the parking spots where he went over the lines I painted by over 1 foot. Another employee (Possibly James's wife) asked me again what needed done to fix the issue of the main driveway, I told her the same thing of installing additional asphalt to make a straight edge. She went to James that was rolling the parking area and told him again, James said screw it and told the crew to pack it up and they were out of there. While packing up James started threatening me with violence and tearing up what he installed. At that time I told him to leave the property before I called the police. That afternoon 10/24/23 about 3:40 PM James started calling and texting me that I still owed him $10,000.00 but is willing to walk away and call it even with the $10,700.00 that I already paid in cash. I told him I would rather have it fixed properly than the condition it's in. 10/25/23 James did say he would put a curb on the sides but after his threats I don't feel safe with him coming back on my property. 10/25/23 I had another asphalt company inspect the job and was insisting on removing it and starting over. The expense would be twice the original quote, so at this point I am stuck with an incredibly terrible eyesore of a driveway. In addition to the above, my yard is destroyed with ruts, oil stains on my concrete pad and yard, trash dumped in my back yard, the excavated soil is dumped in my back yard that was to be spread out level. Cigarette buts throughout the property. There's more but this is most of it, no respect for another person's property and it's the worst paving job I have ever seen. Pictures attached in PDF and JPG zip file, proposal also attached. I have more pictures if needed.

Pittsburgh Sealers came to my property on 8/8/21. They were to repair, paint, and seal my back patio pad, and convinced me to have my driveway “cleaned and sealed” for an additional fee of $375. Total price being $3,075. This was a bit higher than other quotes I received, but PS were quick to respond and were able to “complete” the job immediately. After they left I noticed several spots on both the patio and driveway that were missed and not treated at all. I called to report this to them at the time, and they said they would send someone out. The weather quickly turned, and we did not have issues throughout the winter. Starting in May of 2022 I began calling PS in regards to the patches that weren’t completed, as well as issues of water leaking into my house from the patio not being waterproofed. I have called countless times and left messages. The times I have spoken with someone I have been told “yes, you’re on the list and we will be there next week” to “sorry, it’s been raining and everyone is having issues so we are doing those first” to lastly “oh, we actually have another office (?… I thought PITTSBURGH Sealers were Pgh based as they claimed) in Florida and we are there completing projects.” It is now Mid-November and no one has contacted me at all, nor attempted to fix the problem or address the issues that were never treated in the first place.
