I am writing about the news paper not being delivered to the rural areas of *****, ************ *****, specifically *******************, ****************************************** and **************** all located within the Valley area of Drums. I am the niece of 5 older ladies that live within those areas and have not received a news paper in about 2 months. My aunts would call the newspaper and get told we are sorry for the incovenience, we credit your account they say yes and nothing happens. Now when they call they are told sorry for any inconvenience click, gets disconnected. They got fed up and asked me to contact the Better Business Bureau and make a complaint on their behalf.

Hazleton Standard Speaker has not delivered the newspaper on 22nd and ************** since July 12th. They have made good on the weekend paper and on July 23rd, but that is it. Numerous calls have been placed and routed to the ***********, where I was assured that it would be resolved in 24 to 48 hours and a paper would be at the ************** address, each and every day, with a call from the supervisor to explain why it was not there. It was not done! I called the executive director, ***********************, twice with the exact same messages and no phone calls were ever returned. I posted the situation on ******** and was told if the Standard Speaker closes, these elderly people will get their money reimbursed, but if it claims bankruptcy, they receive nothing. Perhaps if someone local would call one of these people back, and answer my questions, on behalf of my parents, or others in the neighborhood, each would know which way to proceed. This is not happening, nor is receiving their daily newspaper in which a yearly subscription was paid. Please Better Business Bureau Help us in this matter.
