On 8/11/2022 I entered into a contract for a back porch extension with Robert H**** and R.W. Home Regenerations with a start date of the project documented as 4 to 5 months. On 9/17/2022 I paid Robert H**** a deposit of $9750.00 in support of this contract. Through documented texts and emails, the start date of this project was pushed five times (on 2/13, on 3/14, on 4/15, on 4/22, on 5/8) with different reasons being cited. In addition, critical material needed for the job was never ordered. When I pressed for a final start date, I was told middle of July. Due to the continued delays, we agreed to cancel the contract. Through that conversation, I was asked to cover significant costs for drawings that were completed but not agreed to in the scope of work. This was a financial agreement between Robert and a third party and was not documented in our scope. Even so, I agreed to provide a reasonable amount of compensation. We have lost a year of planning due to the failure of R.W. Home Regenerations to execute on the contract. To date I have not received confirmation of the amount I will be refunded nor have I received a check.

To start off, i would like to state that I have already sent the ******** a reimbursement after they had cancelled the contract. It has been resolved for several weeks now. I reimbursed the entire amount minus $500. My company took a complete loss for all the time and effort that was vested in drafting, designing their entire project, researching and locating exact material for the job as well lining up specific tradesmen to complete the job. Standard drafting and design fees are well over the fee of $3,000 which is built into the cost of all my jobs that require it. As i stated; my company took at complete loss for the refusal of payment by *******.  In all of my estimates, I provide estimated time frames for starting the work and the time that it will take to complete. The entire document that was signed is a estimate for work, time and material. I had originally estimated we would be able to start in the beginning of April. After a series of unforeseen issues that arose at other jobs, these timelines needed to be changed as i mentioned to *******. I stayed in touch with them the entire time and informed them of any/all changes. They did not once mention that they did not want to do the project if it was not completed by June 1st. They proceeded to tell me after our date had to be adjusted a couple times. After this information was provided, I offered to get started on the project after the swim season. They declined and stated they wanted to cancel completely and requested all their money back after they had already received a complete set of construction drawings with digital design which are services that my company rendered. They offered to only pay $500 of the $3,000 drafting and design costs of drawings that were downloaded and received by them. I have already mailed the remaining amount of the deposit and the check has been cashed. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

    Sincerely,
    Robert H**** - Owner

    Better Business Bureau:

I filed this complaint BEFORE I received a refund for work that kept getting pushed out. While there are several inaccuracies within the response from the business, I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* I’m ready to put this 9+ month ordeal behind me. Please close this complaint.
