On Tuesday October 10, 2023 I parked my car around 3:55pm outside a family dollar located at *** * ***** **, Allentown, PA *****. My vehicle got towed at approximately 4:20 pm, outside the family dollar parking lot. A staff member from family dollar provided me with the towing company contact information; ###-###-#### where I tried to contact them, but no one would pick up the phone. Minutes later a tow truck driver showed up at the parking lot and asked him if he had towed my car and he said “they did”, I explained the reason why my car was parked there and told him I was attending a community service event at central elementary school around the corner where me and my mate where giving free haircuts to the kids from 4 to 6 pm. He stated he would explain the situation to his boss *****. I asked him where the location of my car was and he wouldn't tell me, his response was “ I don’t know”, I called the number I was given again and told the tow driver I wasn't getting a response and he told me to text or leave voice mail, I texted the owner and I did get a response. I identified myself to ***** and gave him a description of my car, then ***** stated I was going to get a call soon, it passed 15-20 min and nothing. The truck driver had left and I looked the business up online (Eddie’s  Emergency Response Towing), located on *** * *** **. Allentown, PA *****; according to their business website, I proceeded to drive to what ended up being a complete empty lot. After about 45 minutes had passed still had no response from ***** or anyone about the location of my car. I went to the Allentown police department to file a stolen car report and spoke to three detectives, two of them provided me with their business card ****** **** and ****** *****. One of the detectives gave ***** a call which he answered right away and got into an argument about my situation. After the argument between the detective and *****, I got a call from the truck driver 5 minutes after, from a no caller ID and it was the same truck driver I spoke to earlier outside family dollar who finally was able to tell me where my car was. He knew exactly who I was and was aware of the whole situation about me going to the police department and started to intimidate me, arguing and accusing me of "playing games with him" and was very upset as of why I was getting the police involved. I told him all I wanted was to get my car back, I asked him for his name, but he refused to give it to me and gave me the following address; *** * ***** *****, Allentown PA, ***** and told me that I needed $475 cash only to get my car back at that location. My car had only been taken for less than 2 hours and felt it wasn't right they were overcharging me for the towing. The driver had lied to me about the location of my car since he was the one who towed it, and also refused to give me his name and would not give me a business card. He also said the owner ***** was the only person who could open the gate and release the car, which was also a lie since the same truck driver was the one who released the car to me that night after giving him $475.00 dollars in cash and he was the only one at the impound lot. He took a picture of my drivers license along with the cash, and the receipt that he wrote to me in which the name of the business, address, reason for towing the car and name of the person who towed it was missing.
