On April 18th 2024 I used a Groupon for which I paid $295.20 for Equal autos to detail my 2020 ***** Odyssey. Prior to the appointment I also paid a $30 deposit to book the appointment.Prior to the service, my vehicle did not have a damaged windshield; however, after the service was completed I noticed a crack in my windshield. I brought this to the attention of the service provider but he claimed it would be impossible for him to have caused any damage. He noted that I could look at before and after videos he posted on ********* When I took a look at ********* the after video clearly shows a crack, while the before video does not.I discussed this further with the vendor via text, and he indicated that he couldn't be responsible for what happened after he was done, which made no sense, as the video he provided shows the crack which would clearly establish that nothing happened after he was done and left. After this conversation I asked him for his business insurance information and for the status of my refund on the deposit. Since then I have not heard back from him after having tried to contact him twice over a two week period. He has shown a complete unwillingness to work with me on this issue, and has "ghosted" me since I asked for deposit back and his insurance information.

In regards to this complaint We have tried to deal with this customer our provider even spent his day off when he was out of town trying to work it out with this customer. This customer has been harassing our company to the point where we had to forward his calls due to him blowing up our text messages and calling repeatedly. It is impossible to crack a windshield by washing it. the only way that could happen is if 1. There was already a crack in the windshield from something like a rock chip but in order for that to spread it would have had to be over a 100 degree day and you would have to shock it with extremely cold water.

In regards to the deposit our bank has already issued a refund on the deposit but in terms of a refund for the job we will not be issuing that 1 because of the time and money spent to deal with this customer. 2. Because we did not cause this damage, the customer had ample time to do any inspections before leaving we alway ask our customers to look over the vehicle before we leave the premises. When vehicles are dirty, dirt can hide imperfections and other damage that might not be seen when cleaned.

I just noticed that the case for my complaint filed for Equal autos LLC was closed/.  I apologize I never saw the email indicating there was a response from the business.

Is there still an opportunity to respond?  To be quite ***** the response from the business has several inaccuracies within it.

    1.  There was not ample time to inspect the vehicle, as the vendor arrived hours late and I had to leave for my daughter's school event right at the time he was wrapping up.  Furthermore, doing this inspection isn't very relevant as the vendor's own photos show no crack before and a crack afterward.

    2.  There was no harassment  There were conversational texts to look to resolve the issue.  The last two were with regard to insurance information that the vendor never responded to.  The first was sent on 4/20 and the latter on 5/2.  It is quite a fabrication to call that being overwhelmed with text messages.

Finally, the vendor keeps going on about his process and how washing can't break the windshield.  I don't claim to know how it happened and frankly I don't really care.  All I know is I had a windshield without a crack before he started the job and a windshield with a crack afterward.  For that I expect either compensation for the damages, or for insurance information to be able to have our insurance companies figure it out.
