Great until-05/26/2022 Did exactly what ****************** (Excellent Doctor) told me to do, which was come in IMMEDIATELY if I had a corneal erosion, I called ahead, because I'm about an hour out and *** from the front desk directed me to **************, because "I would be sitting in the front office all day, we're busy" TRIAGE was mentioned. Yesterday tried to get an authorization for care in the community, for Vision Pendleton, they were kind enough to let me know my authorization had expired and would be paying out of pocket. I'm a 100% disabled veteran, payed by the VA on a set income, which pays for my family and I to survive. They offered no assistance, nor interest in helping me get an authorization, like most Dr. ******* will... It is incredibly difficult for a patient of the VA to contact the correct channels, and most of the times the doctors offices are able to get a hold of the correct channels easier, and more efficiently (I know my physical therapist and dentist are able to). Regardless, I went to ***********, (From ***** ******) and set up an authorization with my optometrist there. Upon contacting Vision Pendleton at 8:00am today (5/27/22) they informed me that my appointment had been cancelled and my slot had been filled by a new patient (Because I told them that I would not be able to make the appointment if I had to pay out of pocket for it, apparently that means CANCEL. My wife got upset with them (She is my official caretaker through the VA), understandably. Remember, I have not one but TWO corneal erosion's, (That's when your cornea is torn) one in each eye. In the end I had the authorization for Vision Pendleton, we upset someone though because I have been canceled as a patient, after seeing them regularly for over a year, and need to seek help elsewhere. I apologize if we came off as aggressive or rude, sometimes it's difficult to be polite when you're going blind in a very painful, scary way, and then told to kick rocks.
