In Feb. 2024 I purchased a motorhome that was advertised as a 2001 Tiffin Alegro Bus 35 foot from I5 RV Sales in ******* OR. My purchase price was $35,000. It was advertised as 67, 935 miles. I was told by the salesman, *****, that the motorhome was previously owned by a prominent Dr. in the area and was in good shape both on the house side and vehicle side and I did not need a "PDR", pre-delivery inspection. Final Payment for the motorhome was made on March 14th, 2024 See uploaded documents for complete explinationBusiness Response

******************* did purchase a 2001 Tiffin Allegro Bus VIN: ***************** from us back in March of 2024 and did not arrive to pick up the ** until May 2nd 2024. We did not charge ************ for storage at all for the month and a half it sat on our dealership lot until he and his wife arrived to pick up the **. ************ was fully aware that this 2001 Tiffin Allegro Bus was on consignment at our dealership and he said because he was in the auto business he understood what that meant. He had asked several questions about the ** being from a long distance away and we did send him several specific photos that he had requested. We do offer all of our customer's what is called a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) which is done by a third party ** Technician as we do not have a service facility which this service was offered to ************. He told me he wouldn't need to have the inspection done because the ** looked like it was in excellent condition. He did ask though to have the chassis side (engine and drivetrain) inspected in which he would pay to have that done which we did. ***** was in and out of work for a little over a month due to an injury and ************ was also made fully aware of this as we have several emails stating he wishes ***** a good recovery. The ** did get inspected at I-5 ***** Services DBA Fabitup in ********* ********** which we have no affiliation with at all. The mechanic did his inspection and did provide a report back to us and also had the oil changed for ************ at his request. We emailed him the work order from I-5 ***** Services for his review once the ** came back to our dealership on April 11th 2024 and he agreed to pay us by a credit card for the inspection/work that had been done on the 2001 Tiffin Allegro Bus.
************ did pay us in full for this ** prior to his arrival via a bank wire transfer and we did mail the title to him at his request so he can title and license it before he came to pick it up. On May 2nd when ************ and his wife *************** arrived at our dealership, we did have a third party ** Technician here working on a different **. ************ and his wife made their way around the ** both outside of it and inside the ** and made several comments that it was everything that was described to them but did have some questions on how some of the things worked. We did have the third party ** Technician answer his questions which turned into several hours which we did bring to **************** attention that he did not wish to have a Pre-Delivery Inspection done and that we are paying this mobile tech by the hour for another job he was here to do and at that time ************ mentioned that that service was never offered to him. ************ then asked if he could have someone drive with him to a gas station to put fuel in the ** so they could hit the road on their vacation home because they were not from the area and did not know where the nearest gas station was that was easy to get a large ** in and out of. ***** went on the drive to the gas station and after fueling up they started to head back to the dealership to finalize all the paperwork. As ************ was pulling out of the gas station back onto the street a fire extinguisher had fallen down and hit ***** on the leg and continued to hit the floor causing the fire extinguisher to go off so ************ pulled into the nearest parking lot that was big enough for him to pull into so the ** could be aired out. ***** told ************ that there was some paperwork that needed to be finalized back at the office and ************ told him that he wasn't going back to the office and that he would have his wife ************* took ***** back in the rental car they had and that his wife was authorized to sign any documents needed. Once ***** arrived back at the dealership with *************, she mentioned that she was excited for their new ** and their adventure home with it and she signed the paperwork with no force whatsoever. Nobody cornered anyone nor did anyone force anyone to sign any paperwork, it was all done voluntarily and there were witnesses inside the office when this took place. After ************* finished signing all the paperwork she told us that she had a gift for us in the car and she went to get it and came back with a large bag of Peanuts from ******** and once again thanked us for everything that we had done for them and we wished her a safe trip back home for her and her husband.
The mileage on the ** was reading at ****** as of the date we mailed ************ the title and we had to write the mileage in because he stated that the state of ******** required the mileage before he could transfer the title. Everything that we sell that is 2010 and older we **** as Exempt because the *** does not require or record mileage on vehicles 2010 and older and I explained that to ************ but he told me Virginia is different and required the mileage. I went out to the ** and got the mileage and updated the purchase agreement reflecting the ****** miles. There is a button on there to change it from Kilometers to Miles which I'm sure is what ************ probably did not realizing he pressed the button or knows what the button does. We did take a picture of the odometer for ************ and did send that to him showing that it has ****** miles prior to him paying for the **. When you convert ****** miles to Kilometers it comes out to be ******* Kilometers and the Carfax report also shows that the mileage last reported was ****** back in 2022 and before that was recorded at ****** in 2016. Like we stated before that we had this ** on consignment which ************ was fully aware of from the very beginning of this deal and that we had sold this ** to the person we had it on consignment from and he in turn consigned to us due to health reasons that he could no longer drive the **. The previous owner prior to ************ did not drive it very much in the short time of ownership because his health was declining rapidly and he did stay in contact with us for advice on what he should do with the ** and that is when he agreed to consign it with us and then ************ saw the ** advertised for sale on our website.
This is the first that we are hearing of any complaints on this ** as ************ and his wife did not reach out to us for any issues they were having. The turn signals and all the clearance lights as well as the tail lights and brake lights were all in working condition when he left our dealership with the ** on top of him having the chassis (drivetrain) inspected at a third party mechanic shop which did not make any comments about what ************ is saying is wrong with the **. Another complaint I see is that he is stating is that the year is incorrect on the title which is an invalid statement. The ** is infact a 2001 and the CarFax Report that he pulled shows the chassis year which 99% of all **'s are built on a year older chassis (and that is why the carfax report is showing it as a 2000 ******************* Motorhome) than what the ** is titled as and again he did not bring this to our attention prior to this complaint otherwise we would have explained this to him. We have attached a copy of the title showing it as a 2001 and not a 2000. The mechanic shop ********************* that ************ stated he took the ** to a shop that he owns and operates so we are not sure if these issues that he is claiming are true and accurate. We believe ************ is having buyer's remorse because nothing was ever brought to our attention on any issues he was having and when he and his wife were here to pick up the ** they were extremely happy and very thankful for everything we did for them. I have also attached the documents from ***** when we mailed the title to ************ and the address he had us ship it to and his signature on the date he received the title.Customer Answer

*****,
Please show ***** on missing the 7 day window to respond. Please do not close this complaint.
Due to the complexity of the repairs required on this vehicle the delay was unavoidable. Please find attached my response and the repair receipts I encored in May of 2024.
