I signed a lease to own with HLP LLC for a property in **********. The website used to process payments for this lease is through Rentec Direct. I have had nothing but issues with this website and their customer service is abysmal. They are refusing to allow me to add my bank account information for payments, they will allow you to add a debit card, however in order to use your debit card it is a ridiculous $70 fee per transaction. When customer service was contacted they refused to assist me, refused to direct me to an IT person to correct the bank account issue.Refusing one form of payment that would not charge a fee and forcing someone to use a type of payment that is only applicable with a $70 fee is extortion.

    Hi ******,

It is my understanding that you are a renter and not a direct software customer of **********************, nor do you have any agreements with Rentec. You may be renting from one of Rentec Direct's clients (ie, the customer of our customer).

While ********************** may be providing software to your property manager, we do not set fees, policies, or determine which payment methods are accepted. Since we do not have access to your account or the fee structure of your property manager, we would have referred you to your property manager for assistance if you had contacted us.

It is common for property managers to pass along their merchant costs for credit/debit processing. Additionally, if your bank account has had multiple non-sufficient funds issues or other funding problems, your property manager might no longer accept payments in that form.  Please consult with your property manager if that is the case, and if so, you may want to arrange to pay via certified funds or cash.

To resolve your issue, please contact your property manager directly. Should your property manager need support or training with their software, they can always reach out to Rentec Direct, as we offer unlimited free US-based support to all our property management clients.
