  The public should be aware....We had a rep from The Basement Doctor come out to our home for a free inspection/estimate. What we needed was help, instead they wanted only to sell us a product. For the first time, our basement had water coming in between the floor and walls. We called a plumber the first night who attempted to trouble shoot to no avail. We then had 3 foundation "specialists" come out to try to diagnose the issue. The first was The Basement Doctor. He went into our basement looked around, walked around the perimeter of our home and then sat with us for an hour showing us pictures/diagrams of just what our problem was. He diagnosed the problem as failed footer drains. The cost would be more than $20K to fix but he was giving us a "discount". He pushed hard for a downpayment to be made that day. Unfortunately, the next two specialists also diagnosed it the same with equally high cost repairs that they all said had to be done to save our home. A couple of weeks later (and thankfully prior to any work being done)...a friend who doesn't even work in the field was talking to us over the phone and insisted we check our property for a foundation drain pipe to make sure it wasn't clogged. ALL of the "specialists" had led us to believe that it would drain into the city waste and not on our property. They never even checked. Not one. Sure enough, we located the pipe fairly easily and removed a 2.5 foot tree root from the pipe and water gushed from our foundation for over an hour. We have since had several rainy days and our basement is completely dry. I reached out to the company to report what had happened. I spoke with a secretary as they would not let me speak to anyone in management. She was apologetic and stated that someone higher up would be reaching out to me to understand the issue that had occurred so that they could improve their services so that no other customer would be potentially taken, needlessly, for thousands of dollars. The call never came.

  Will never deal with ***** **** Project Mgr. out of Lima, OH. He came out today to do a check on my crawl space issue. My home was involved in the June 15, 2023 Tornado in Point Place. I could smell mildew and wanted it checked out to see if any water damage. He and his branch manager came out and gave me a free inspection. Once he was done he went over all the issues and showed me pictures and explained the situation and quoted me a price for some work for a crawl space with encapsulation, tile barrier to keep mud and water out of crawl space and dehumidifier plus other things for a cost of $14K. He said he could start next week. I told him to email me the information to I could submit it to my insurance adjuster. He said he sent me the email before he left my house at 3 pm. I sent him 3 texts stating I never received the email so I could forward to my insurer. He left me a message at 5 pm stating the email was just sent and to check my spam folder. I kept checking until 7 pm so finally texted him to say I was not interested in dealing with Basement Doctor or him. I think he just wanted the commission and wasn't to sent me the quote or pictures. So very disappointed and would never recommend them.

  make promises they can't keep to get your business. Paid THOUSANDS of dollars for a trench in crawlspace, and to get rid of mold, and SMELL of mold.....6 months later...still smells like musty mold in crawlspace. What they used to spray and supposedly kill the mold was something the guy said, " so in so drank this before"....so I highly doubt that is a chemical to kill mold! will never recommend them to anyone I know

  I am still waiting on my windows that I have ordered. Had an incident with my original sump pump exit pipe, they didn't tell me that it was my responsibility to cover the pipe. Had some really heavy rain, water was pouring in the basement, I called immediately, they told me that it would be a few hours to get here to fix it. I had about 4 inches of water and it was still pouring in. They wanted me to open the pump (with 4 inches of water on it) could not open it. I had pulled the emergency beeper out, the water started going out. Beeper would not stop! I had to take it apart and pull the battery. Never got replaced. The project manager came to fix the problem. After a couple of hours and a few trips (he had others to see also) he capped the pipe for me and pulled the protective plastic off of the pump pit, why the water wouldn't go down to the pumps. I showed him they didn't put in a port for my water softener. They left the basement dirty, kinked the dehumidifier hose (another huge pool of water) he wasn't very happy, said they would be back to do my windows and clean the floor. This was in Early July. Installed June 23 24. Haven't heard anything yet!

  Had lil water issue & they came out to check it out the same day I called them!! Fixed it the next day!
