Evolved Mechanical was hired the day after Christmas to resolve a sewage overflow issue in the two downstairs drains, in laundry room and shower. The job ended up taking two months without a working shower or toilet, every day I had to call the company to ask if they were going to show up or not, overflow happened a dozen times which I was left to clean up, I was charged 10k without a clearly communicated plan or understanding of what was happening and who was in charge, my backyard was left dug up and destroyed (still is) and the fence line they took down was left open, and the original issue that I hired them for still persists to this day. I have an email voicing my grievances from as far back as late January and plenty of date-marked photos of the job. Communication on their end was extremely difficult and the bare minimum so I dont have a lot of evidence of their contractual agreement.Initial Complaint

Description: The consumer paid $12,000 to Evolved Plumbing for water pump repairs but claims the job was never completed and did poor shoddy work to begin with. ******* **** *********** accepted a proposal from Evolved Mechanical and Plumbing for a 6” backflow and 3” backflow project that is required by the City of Columbus on May 13, 2024. The quote was $79,481.29 and T**** ******** ********* and *** of Evolved, requested a 50% deposit before he would start the job. ******* **** paid Evolved the deposit of $39,725.70 on May 23, 2024. On June 26, 2024, we contacted ***** ******* about the status of the project because work had not begun as scheduled. He gave us false assurances between then and July 22, 2024, when he stated that work would begin the first week of September. ******* **** had a large spruce tree removed on August 27, 2024 as part of the project to allow the installation of the new hot box. Work did not begin as scheduled; ***** ******* claimed he was having issues with his Hydro-vac machine. ******* **** had 2 sections of wooden fence removed to allow access to the project site for construction on September 10, 2024. ******* **** continued to contact ***** ******* about the start date to no avail. Evolved’s hydro-vac showed up on site on October 2, 2024, however no Evolved employees were ever seen and the machine never moved until it disappeared when we requested our deposit back on October 11, 2024. ******* **** received a check from Evolved for $39,740.64 on November 14, 2024. The check was dated November 15, 2024 and our treasurer deposited the check on November 15, 2024. ******* **** received notice from our bank that payment on the check was stopped on November 18, 2024. ******* **** has continued to contact ***** ******* and Evolved to get the deposit back. Those efforts have been unsuccessful and ***** ******* is not returning phone calls or replying to texts.Initial Complaint

Evolved Plumbing Columbus Ohio- July 24 2023 installed new hot water tank, new basement toilet & new basement utility sink. Young inexperienced & unlicensed plumber (******) installed correct 40 gal tank with incorrect 36,000 BTU. Original tank was 40,000 BTU. I called Evolved, inexperienced plumber returned, ran tap 3 seconds and left. Evolved Plumbing then ghosted my calls, no further return calls. My electric bills are higher than before replacement, water tank must now be set on higher temp. Not enough hot water in kitchen sink for dishes or take a hot shower in bathroom. I have a 24 year old **** Therm boiler furnace which still works. Young plumber had no experience with this system, often called for advice to company. I did not know what a BTU was, and had to educate myself after the replacement, trying to solve the problem. Otherwise I would have made sure to notice the error during the install. I looked up photos of original hot water tank from condo purchase inspection Dec 16, 2019. The young plumber did not have enough experience to solve mistakes & work with uncommon plumbing set up. I was nervous as the young plumber frequently called for advice, and said things like Oops I forgot the draft hood! He called for help but received none when he could not figure out how to drain the tank to get it up the basement stairs. To protect my carpet I held a plastic tarp under the heavy partially filled broken tank as the young man dragged it up the stairs, stopping in pain midway to exclaim What have I done! My bills are higher, available hot water is lower. I demand the company replace the tank to correct heating capacity or better yet, reimburse the cost to me so I can hire someone else I can trust. No complaints regarding utility sink & new toilet, although plumber picked up sink without legs & made several trips to hardware store for supplies.Customer Answer

This has been resolved, ***** from Evolved Plumbing phoned me within hours of my negative ****** ******.
I accepted their offer of installing 2 in line check valves at no charge on Nov 14, 2023. My friend who was on site Nov 14 recorded 65 degree F at the kitchen sink after this plumbing fix.
Compared to my previous measurements of 127 degree F dropping to 104 degree F within 60 seconds post hot water replacement July 24.
Evolved Plumbing then asked me to remove the ****** review. I said I would amend it, gave them 3 stars and credit for showing up & providing the fix. After a few months I will delete the entire ****** review, I don't think it is valuable to keep bad news around forever.
