I phoned the business on Sun., Jan. 29 and explained my request to the employee, which was to sell some dining room furniture belonging to my parents and grandparents before Feb. 1, when a junk removalist would clear out the building. Paul, the business owner, returned my call that evening, and the next day came and looked at various things at my house and at my parents' building, taking several photos. He said he would give me a quote. I did not hear from him, so I e-mailed him on Fri., Jan. 27 and then phoned him that evening. He said that he had received the e-mail but had not done the quote yet, but told me he would do it "now". That is the last I heard from him. I left several phone messages for him and asked an employee to text him, reminding him that the furniture had to be out before Feb. 1. He completely blew me off, and now the furniture is on its way to a landfill. I will need to find other ways to dispose of the articles at my own house. I don't understand why, if he didn't want any of the articles, he didn't tell me that.
