    They are very bad with communication you have to call them 101 times to get updates on your move , they give you a quote then add extra fees charge you for things that you didnt ask for they give you the run around and lie about when your items will be delivered told me I would pay half when the ** pick my items up then the other payment when my items arrive which was a lie I will never ever recommend them to anyone they are the absolute worst

    Moving expenses were 4x the original estimate, items were not delivered and the business doesn't respond to repeated attempts to resolve the issue.

     After contacting me to say they are looking into my missing items there have been no updates and no response to repeated attempts on my part asking for updates.

    On February 29th 2024, Call My Mover came to my home to give an estimate for my upcoming move. I had other companies come and give a quote as well, and they all quoted a similar price- around $2000, but Call My Mover was the lowest of the bids I got so I went with them. On my move date, April 13th, once my stuff was loaded on the truck, they called to say there was more stuff than they had estimated and changed the price to $7000. Additionally, my original quote had been for the whole move, and this new quote was for just the first half of the move, and they would not tell me how much it would cost to unload. It took lots of begging and crying on the phone for them to lower the price to $5000 (all the money I had) for the first half and to get them to commit to $3000 (and put in writing that they would not change that price) for the second half of the move. I paid a total of $8000 for what multiple companies had agreed would be a $2000 move. My family said I should just walk away from the stuff- the price they were quoting was more than all my stuff was worth put together. But that stuff included things like my kids drawings, my grandmother's quilts, my childhood treasures, my kids favorite toys, my birth certificate, my annotated books from graduate school. They knew they had me in a corner. They are predatory. They are unethical. Additionally, they claimed to have "lost" my bookshelf, then claimed they actually "broke" my bookshelf and that they were fixing it, but they have still not returned it.At the very least I need them to return my bookshelf immediately, and I also feel strongly that they should refund a portion of the moving costs to me. If they do not I am considering taking them to small claims court.

    At this time, I have been contacted directly by Call My Mover regarding complaint ID ********, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

     

    I have still not received any resolution from Call My Mover about my property they are holding hostage. 

    I recorded a conversation with them where they said they would not return my property until I removed a negative review I had written about them.



    I call them daily but they have no plan to return my property to me.



    I've tried going to the police but they say this is a "civil" matter and they can do nothing.



    I am desperate, what else can I do?

    April 15th 2024 i hired call my movers to do a state to state move from NYtotal to Md. I also explained i had an apt in the city that had a few things to pick up as well as from our queens home. The sales rep quoted me 4100 dollars for the service. I agreed and paid a 100 dollar deposit on my discover care. upon pick up from the queens home the mover said it would be 2oo dollars more for overage on cubic feet total of 4300 dollars i agreed. I stored my items with them for an additional 520 dollars. total of 4820 dollars. i paid an additionall 2000 dollars on march 28th 2024 balance 2300 due. 2 days before delivery ***** from call my movers tells me i owe ****** dollars or i will not get my items I thought it was a mistake. The divers arrived at my home at 630pm and demanded the check before they would start working.. They were suppoed to arrived at 8am no later than noon. All of my items were either broken and or scratched up. This company does not do good business it is a bait and switch and the customer is left with no recourwse if you want your items. From 4100 dollars i paid ****** dollars its a travisy this company is a preditor.

    My move was scheduled with this company for 1/30/24 and it did happen after many phone calls from my husband and I to the company because the day of the move they weren't arriving and the company was not responding. The movers arrived 6 hours late and took our things back to the warehouse to be delivered on 2/2/24. Again after many phone calls the delivery arrived 3 hours late and some of our furniture and things were broken or not on the truck. We also did not receive a receipt which should've been emailed the same date. All was reported and photographed by the movers and I sent a claim to the company which to date has not been answered. I have emailed them twice and no response. We believe they have to pay for breakage and missing pieces.

    Company moved us from **** N.Y. to ***** **. Dec.15th. Movers would not unload the truck till we gave them certified bank checks. Multiple items missing and many items damaged. Photos were provided by us in a claim we filed 5wks ago. Company ignores us and does not return our calls.We submitted photos 3 times since each time we call they say they can't find photos. An obvious stall tactic. Our next strategy is small claims court, which allows up to $5000.00. We do not wish to take that step but will, if we have to. I still work in N.Y. and am there frequently. The moving men themselves were very hostile and intimidating and loudly demanded tips. They were thugs and rude. Would never want them in our home again. After $900. cash tips not one said thank you.

    Transaction date was 9/9/23. Check #**** $100 deposit given for a move 1st or 2nd wk in Oct. Business contacted me around 9/6/23 through the sale of my home to schedule a free in-home estimate. Incentive was a free in-home estimate, up to 2 dozen boxes an $150 off estimate. Voice msgs were left for me with their promotion and offers which I have saved. will try to upload. Estimator Chase, arrived on 9/9/23 performed walk-thru and contacted the office for estimate confirmation with rep ******** They asked for a $100 deposit to hold the quote and both ******* and ***** confirmed on 9/9/23 that the deposit is fully refundable should I cancel at least 3 days prior to the scheduled move. That policy on their website under "refund deposit" policy. Never received boxes. Check was cashed on 9/12/23. About 2 weeks later I spoke to ******* to cancel the move. I was informed that I would be hearing back from *******, admin office, and she would handle the refund transaction. A week went by and I called ******* again, she stated there was no cancellation and denied conversation from prior week, but she would do it and ******* would do the refund transaction. Cancellation email was provided on 10/4/23. After that I called ***** and informed him of the conversation with ******* on 10/4/23. ***** stated I am 100% due a full refund of the deposit and would speak with ******* and ******* the very next day and ensure it happened. I sent ***** several text after that call reiterating the conversation and the refund and I have not heard back from Chase or Call My Mover. A call was made on 11/7 between myself, attorney and company and their response now is that I am not *********** a refund because they came to the house for an estimate and its stated on the confirmation email. That is not true or their policy nor was that on the confirmation email. All lies. I am still seeking a full refund. Enclosed are all documentations and screenshots pertaining this transaction.
