On November 29, 2022 I visited PLS CHECK CASHERS located at ******************************************************** at approximately 7:15 AM to withdraw cash off my EBT benefit card. The store clerk **** asked for my card and swiped it on their electronic device behind the counter. He then proceeded to tell me that my card is declined and throws the initial transaction receipt in a locked trash bin instead of giving the receipt to me. I explained to him that money was deposited today (November 29, 2022) and I have a balance of $199. I had also called my benefit card earlier that morning to check my balance. He swiped the card again. Again declined. I immediately called my EBT card while still being serviced by **** and discovered that $180 was taken off during this transaction that I did NOT receive. I remained at the store until ****************, the shift manager, arrived hoping she would help. She rudely explained to me that she could not retrieve lost funds for declined card nor open locked bin holding the initial transaction receipt that **** threw in the garbage. I called the police who told me when they arrived that they cannot handle money issues because this is a civil matter. and to file a complaint with the company. I firmly believe I am a victim of a scam and asking for help in resolving lost funds that I desperately need. My contact number is ************** Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you, *****************************
