    I decided to give Almstead another try last year after having a poor experience some years ago. Unfortunately, things have only become worse. When *** came out for the initial review and contract, he was very professional and thorough and I had high hopes. But once the contract was signed, I had nothing but disappointments. (1) I have been double billed for the same work on multiple occasions.(2) They failed to do work included on my contract, and even after coming back to do the work, didn't do it. I have had to hire another company to do the work. (3) I get e-mails from them that make no sense; one example is where I received an e-mail about ***** removal before they even removed the tree! (4) I signed up for four annual maintenance visits, thinking they would do pruning; I should have read the fine print. All they did was come to the house and spray stuff which took less than five minutes. Moreover, the "early, mid- and late" summer visits all took place within a month, which defeats the whole purpose.(5) Their contracts renew automatically so you have to be very firm with them and not pay in advance. (6) Even after I sent a letter documenting the above (in response to a double billing invoice), I never heard back from them.
