Signed contract to renovate exterior of vacation home 12/21. Sent payments as requested. ***** led us to believe work was taking place. Saw our home in January and minimal work had occurred. ***** reassured us work was being done. Saw our home again Feb after signing change orders and giving him more money and very little additional work occurred (change order stated work would be done April 15) Saw home again beginning of May and no work had been done since Feb. ***** again lied and said it would be done by Memorial Day weekend. Neighbors told us they had not been there in at least 2 months. Memorial Day weekend, we discovered it was the first they had been there since Feb. The house exterior sat exposed, due to the stucco removal, all winter. The material they used to partially wrap the house was bubbled and shredded. The decks were unsafe as railings had been removed and one deck was rotted. Porch posts were unattached. ***** said they would be back to work Tuesday after Memorial Day weekend. They never showed up. I contacted ***** and he had no excuse. He admitted he owed me money back as he was not finishing the job. I paid him $44000 of the $57,910. He has since stopped responding to my messages asking for my money back for the unfinished job. I have had to pay another contractor $50,000 to redo work ***** had started and to finish the job.
