I purchased an echo weed trimmer from this business approximately 1 year ago and one morning it would not start. I brought the trimmer in on June 29th and was informed by the counter person that the trimmer was still under warranty. I was also informed that the technician would have to evaluate the problem before confirming if that particular issue was covered. I was fine with that but I wanted someone to call me if it was not under warranty to discuss a price for the repair prior to making the repair. They explained that the repair tech was out and would be back in a few days. As I do yards I could not wait so I bought another trimmer. A decision I regret. I missed a call from them at 8am on July 5th 2023 and returned the call at 11 am on the same day. The same sales person explained that my part was ready for pick up with no mention of a fee. I had not missed or received a call from Forsyth Mower Works prior to then. I rightly assumed that the part was under warranty. When I arrived on July 6th; today , to pick up the trimmer I was informed that it would be 99.00 for the repair and it needed to be serviced so they did that too. I explained the situation and at that time they stated that "they tried to call and got no answer and since the trimmer was worth fixing they went ahead and fixed it." I again explained that that was not the agreement at which time they stated that they could just take the new part off and give it back to me, which they did. I am very displeased with this Business and would highly recommend that anyone performing yard work choose another lawn equipment company with which to purchase a product. While they're actions may have been legal they were most certainly highly unethical.

After several attempts to contact Mr.**** to let him know his failure would not be covered under warranty and that it appeared the string trimmer had been dropped or hit, the technician assumed the customer would still want the trimmer repaired which ended up not being the case. When Mr.**** came in to the store he let us know that he did not want the trimmer repaired if it was not going to be warrantied. He also informed us that he did not have voicemail set up, so we were unable to leave a message. At that time, we removed the installed parts from the trimmer and re-assmbled the trimmer at no charge. It is an unfortunate situation as we were trying to get his equipment repaired in a timely manner and made a decision that did not coincide with what the customer would have chosen to do. We apologize and take responsibility for our mistake.
