We had the HVAC technician come out to service our 2 furnaces on 1/2/25. It was discovered at this time that the exhaust pipe was not attached to one unit; a potentially very dangerous situation because a furnace burning fuel can produce carbon monoxide, VOCs or other harmful emissions. How did no one notice this before? To this techs credit, he worked to fix this situation. But he sold us on a part. Now, there is a concern and a breach of trust for the initial work that was done. This is concerning for several reasons including the risk of Carbon Monoxide poisioning, fire hazard, *************** growth, furnace damage. On 1/20/25, our heat went out. Timing seemed odd, given the recent service. Said we needed another part and that the unit was from 2016. We told him the unit was replaced in 2021. He denied that saying the unit says 2016. He contacted the office and they said that they only replaced, in 2021, the pan and the air conditioning and the part for $311 is not covered under warranty. Yet, we have a receipt/invoice from the work in July 2021 that clearly indicates we paid $7,500.00 for: "Installed new Trane 2.5 ton furnace and air conditioner system. Installed new flue pipe. Installed new overflow ******* system has been pressure tested, vacuumed and charged to manufacturer specifications. New system is running per manufacturer specifications upon completion. New system has a 10 year warranty on all Trane parts and a 3 year labor warranty". Yet, when the tech called their office, they said their records show they did NOT replace the furnace, yet they charged us for it and told us at the time it was being replaced. It's on our invoice/receipt. So we had to pay for the new part. Our trust in this company is now broken.
