I called Advanced Copier Services, **** and asked if he could repair a Ricoh Printer. I gave him the error code on my printer and he said yes, he could repair my Ricoh Printer. He said he charged $175.00 per hour and I said okay. He came out and spent 1.5 hours doing nothing basically. He kept restarting the printer and getting the same error code. He did some simple things that I had already tried from researching on the computer. I told him before he started that I had already done those things and they did not work. He then opened the back of the printer and wiggled some of the cables. He restarted the printer several other times, He then unplugged the eternity cable, restarted and plugged it back in. That was one of the things I told him that I had already done. Finally, he said it looks like it might be a board. I asked him which board and he said, "I'll have to call you tomorrow about that." He put the back back on the printer and charged me $344.00 for doing simple things that he found on the internet. He called me the next day and said a board would cost $3,400, but still did not say which board. He said as an alternative, he would sell me a new Epson printer for a little less than the board would cost or he could lease me one. I told him I was not interested in leasing, I was NOT going to buy the board and was not going to buy the Epson printer. This man showed no sign at all that he knew what he was doing, even though he said he could repair a Ricoh printer. This man knew he had no experience working on Ricoh Printers. I believe his goal was to just get our money.
