We moved into our house three months ago, which had an Alarm Man system already installed. We went with another company, so did not assume the contract from our home’s sellers. But the alarm went off a couple of times, so we called Alarm Man to ask about removing it/disarming it. We did not sign any contract or discuss any kind of fee, they just agreed to come collect their equipment. No payment was discussed when they showed up (and took all of 10 minutes to remove the system the previous homeowners had installed). Now we just received a $134.38 invoice that somehow includes sales tax. Again, we had no agreement with them involving any payment or fee let alone >100 for less than 10 minutes and if we’d known we obviously would’ve just cut the wires to the system ourselves.

I am contacting BBB to ask for your assistance regarding the billing of $215 from Alarm Man of North Carolina, LLC. for upgrade of a cellular alarm communicator. The business practices used by Alarm Man regarding the cellular alarm communicator upgrade for my alarm system are on the verge of fraud. 1) I received a email from Alarm Man LLC on Feb 15, 2022 regarding the shutdown of ATT 3G one week before the actual date of shutdown of February 22, 2022. 2) The email then states to call the office to arrange to have my cellular alarm communicator replaced. (There is no mention of any costs involved for this work) 3) I call the office and arrange an appointment and schedule an appointment for March 12. (There is no mention of any costs involved for this work when the appointment was set with the Alarm Man Rep) 4) AFTER THE INSTALLATION WAS COMPLETE THE TECHNICIAN CONVENIENTLY HANDS ME A BILL FOR $215. WHICH COMPLETELY SHOCKS ME. I request that Alarm Man LLC remove the charge of $215 from my account immediately. **** *********
