We contracted him to purchase and install 4 bathroom sink faucets, 2 toilet wax rings, 2 shut off valves, and water supply lines for the toilets, and 3 bathroom exhaust fans. We paid him on March 22, 2024. We needed a larger exhaust fan for our master bathroom. He charged us $190.00 for this fan and $100.00 for installation. He charged more to install this fan because he said he'd have to cut the drywall and it would be more time consuming. But instead he put in a 50 cfm fan which is the smallest fan and costs about $22.00. On the description of that fan it says its "powerful enough for rooms up to 45 square feet." That bathroom is at least 88 square feet. He put the same fans in our smaller bathroom and half bathroom and charged $100 for each fan and $75 each for installation. He also replaced 4 bathroom faucets. One of the sinks in the master bathroom leaked after he replaced the faucet and pop-up drain. He came back twice to try to fix it. It still leaked so he said he was going to the hardware store and would need to get a new assembly for it. At his time I talked to him about the exhaust fan. He left after that and has refused to come back and fix the sink or do anything about the fan.

We discussed and came to an agreement that the exhaust fans were acceptable. I offered to fix the problem with the sink at no additional charge for time OR materials. The sink drains were not in the original bid to begin with. I replaced the drains at no additional charge. When I told ********** had to go and buy replacement part for the sink at no additional charge out of my own pocket. He stopped me and he brought the exhaust fans up to me again.

I didnt refuse To fix the drain. I was fixing the drain. I was walking out the door to purchase replacement parts out of my own pocket. I was there spending time fixing it at no additional charge. This is for a part of the work that wasnt included with the original estimate. That I was doing at no additional charge. There was a confusion whether the drain was included with it or not. It was not included with the original proposal but I did it to make sure he was happy.

I dont know how to resolve the issue. I was doing everything and more than what they had asked

I tried to fix the drain. He stopped me to talk about exhaust fans which we had already come to an agreement on. At this point, theres nothing more I can do. Ive done everything in my power to make sure this was acceptable.

I even made a service call at 8:30 on a Friday evening because he said his toilet wasnt flushing. I found no issue at all. When I told him the toilet was flushing fine he told me no its not. I said **** its flushing. He said no its not. I said *************** try to flushing the toilet. He tried it and flushed fine. He said oh, ok. I even replaced the flapper in the toilet at no additional charge. The rebuild kits for the toilets I replaced at no additional charge.

Now keep in mind Ive been back twice. I go back to fix whatever it is thats wrong no matter who it is. However, it is impossible for me to fix the problem when people are talking about things that arent wrong. I was trying to go get the parts. He stopped me. He wanted to talk about exhaust fans. We already came to the agreement that the exhaust fans were fine. I go to his house on a Friday evening because the toilet wont flush the toilet flushes fine. At this point, theres nothing more that I can do.

So to recap, I replaced 4 drains for the sinks, 2 toilet rebuild kits and one toilet flapper. Out of my own pocket, I didnt charge for labor or materials. I have been back twice at no additional charge.

There is nothing more that I can do to make them happy. I dont know how to make them happy.

The only time I ever discussed the exhaust fan with ****** was the first day he was here to make an estimate and the last day he was here to fix the leaky sink. He never told me that he wasn't going to put in the larger fan and I certainly never told him that was acceptable.  We have trouble with mold on the ceiling in that bathroom and that 50 cfm fan is not powerful enough.

The sink drains came with the faucets that we purchased and we just assumed they would be installed along withe faucets.

The Friday evening that he came was because of the sink that leaked.  Since he was coming for that I also mentioned the toilet not flushing right.  It does flush.  It just doesn't always flush on the first try.  You have hold it down long enough.  It's no big deal. It just takes a simple adjustment of the flapper chain.  I'll do it myself.  ****** did try to fix the drain and was going to get parts for it. He left after I spoke about the exhaust fan.  He called later and said he couldn't help us anymore.  I told him I'd forget about the fan if he'd just come back and fix the sink.  He said he'd come back at noon, but he never did come.  I called him later and left him a message to please call us and let us know if he's coming back to fix it or not.  He never returned the call.

Since then, I hired another handyman and he fixed the sink.  I'm waiting on him for an estimate to replace the fan ****** put in.  All I want from ****** is the $290 we spent on a useless fan and the $80 we spent to fix the sink.
