***** ****** was tasked with gutting & redoing the entire interior (upholstery/wiring/flooring, with a few other misc. things) of my 1956 ***** 210 car. We had gotten an estimate for around $10,000. We agreed to pay him $6,000.00 on April 6, 2024. We said that we would not deliver the car till all the stuff was in for repairing. He said everything was in, so we delivered the car to him on Aug. 9, 2024. Come to find out he did not have hardly anything ordered & ready for install by the time the car was delivered to him. When we came to pick up the car on Oct. 12, 2024, & paid him the amount that he stated we owed, questioning the amount. I asked him for the receipts for the car stuff that he ordered for the car. He give them to me. On his bill he had a restocking fee for $450.00 for door panels, plus other fee for shipping. I called the company he returned the door panels to. ***** was not charged a restocking fee, in fact he got back everything but a little of the shipping cost of the door panels, he was not charged a restocking fee. When ***** came to my house on Oct, 24, 24, to fix something on the car(he did not end up fixing it, I had to take the car someplace else for something he installed, as it was not correct, so I had to pay the 3rd party for something I had already paid ***** to fix) on the car after we got it home, I asked him about the restocking fee he charged ******* said he would send me a check back for the $450.00 he over charged me for the restocking fee. I did not get it in the mail. I texted/called him multiples times, he finally answered, on Dec. 4, 2024 & he said he would resend it. I have called him multiple times again & he continues to not answer my calls. At this point in time, I am only asking for $450 that he agreed to pay me. I do also have this on recording that he agreed to send me the check for the restocking fee that he charged me. Still have not gotten it. He was over the price by more than $5,000.00.
