Sometime in February, a truck pulled into my yard and someone knocked on my door. Before I could get to it I heard tires spinning and saw the truck backing up further in my yard. By the time I got outside, they had started dumping shredded pine trees in my yard. I told them to stop I did not order anything from them. They said they would clean it up but I told them to leave it but fill in the trench in my yard that the truck tire left. A couple of weeks went by when I noticed noticed that the truck not only the left a trench but had cracked a portion of my sidewalk, it was sticking up and I was afraid someone would trip and get hurt. I called them and eventually the project manager came out and took pictures but has not made any attempts to fix the problem. I was always nice about it but apparently, they don't feel like it's important enough to fix. The sidewalk is older and so am I but it is dangerous. I put a yellow bin over it so no one will trip an fall.

    Business Response

One of our truck drivers was delivering a load of (ordered) wood chips to a neighbor's property and somehow mixed up the address numbers and ended up at this address instead by accident.  The homeowner came out and stopped them prior to dumping the chips and told the driver they did not need to clean up the small pile (less then a five gallon bucket) of wood chips that had fallen from the truck when backing in.

We did receive a call from the homeowner a couple weeks later asking if we could send someone by to take a look at a crack in her sidewalk caused from the truck pulling in.  One three occasions we have sent our project manager to the house, he took photos and has knocked on the door and called the number provided to try and come up with a resolution but each time he has visited and called there has been no answer.   We would like to correct this by patching the crack in the sidewalk but do not want to do anything without going over the suggested solution with the homeowner in person.

Is there another method of contact or a time of day where someone is available in person to go over a solution?  We assumed when there was no answer or response that the homeowner was not interested in having the walkway repaired.  It is a small crack in the sidewalk that does appear to be fresh, we are not denying it could have been caused by our truck entering the property by mistake.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I would also like the trench they left to be filled in. I'm sorry if no one was home when he came by but he didn't leave a note saying had been here. I did not receive any phone calls from Arundel Tree Service or I would have answered if I were home, again there wasn't any phone messages left either. I'd be happy to talk to someone before they come by to make sure that someone will be here.

    Sincerely,
