I have been homeless for the last three years, became disabled after open heart surgery. Those facts have been properly documented in my CHAMP Application I have submitted to ASG for Housing Priority placement. After waiting for 3 month for ASG has denied my application for no reason. And ASG is not willing /able to disclose the reason behind the denial.ASG employees are poorly trained. ASG is involved in illegal practices of automatically denying applications without looking into details.

ASG keeps denying me ******** status on a housing wait list, even though I am a ********. They asked for verification that I was homeless, so I provided my old electric bill and the demolition permit for the house I used to live in. These two documents together tell the story of how I lived in a home, but had to leave because the landlord was demolishing and building a new house on the property. They told me that would be enough to grant ******** status, since I was not evicted and do not have court documents. A different person denied my application because I do not have said court documents, even though I was told I didnt need them as they didnt apply to me. Now, the employees are getting their own policy confused and they seem to not know that the demolition permit from Town Hall IS the equivalent document that proves I had to vacate the home. They can clearly see that I was displaced through no fault of my own, but are still not granting me the ******** status I was supposed to receive, because I do not have eviction/judgement documents from a courthouse. Those documents were never needed from the beginning, and were only asked for once I successfully completed the list of documents I was asked for the first time. They are clearly finding any reason they can to falsely deny me ******** status. This company should NOT be working for the state government and if they are, they should NOT be making up their own rules that outweigh the law. I have appealed twice and I keep being told without the court documents there is nothing we can do and that is a lie. They are either lying, or simply are not knowledgable about what documents can be accepted in place of the court documents. They need to finish the job by granting me ******** status, or I will continue to be homeless and will unfortunately have to get my lawyer involved. You simply cannot deny a homeless person ******** status, especially when they have proven their situation beyond reasonable doubt.
