Hi To whom it may concern, I registered to take an Analytics Program course back in July, 2024. The program was very appealing to me as it was a fast track to changing a career into Data Analytics and it would only take 4 months to complete it. A tuition of $5,300.00 was charged or paid for yet for the first month, the program was disorganized. After day one of class starting, I didn't have any access to any of the courses or resources. 2nd class session, still no progress and the staffs were informed. They said it would be fix immediately after taking notes of what happened and details of what needed to be done. 3rd class session, still no progress and still had no access to the Upright Portal, The Discord Portal and zoom sessions which I was often late because I had no access. After 2nd week, still no progress, which I ended up giving them a warnig that I would withdraw and require a reimbursement. They communicated with me and said it would get fixed immediately. I gave them a benefit of the doubt that it would get better. No progress on their end and information was just being bounced around and blamed from one department to the next. By the 4th week, I withdrew from the program and requested to get full reimbursement. I was told I would only get 25% tuition reimbursement per contract agreement. In my defense, I find it appalling as their program was disorganized and did not follow through, with the students needs and issues; especially not having any access to any of their portals and resources after the 3rd week which led me to be behind on course and study. Therefore I requested a full reimbursement which they declined. Under my circumstances of not even given the chance to go through and experience the program, I feel that I should get a full refund of my tuition. Side Note: I even had them see it through my screen and they were surprised too. Other students were also having the same issues.

The Analytics Program that the customer referenced concerns with is offered through Upright Education.  STCC partners with Upright Education, however, it is Upright Education that provides the instruction and administers the program that was referenced.  STCC reached out to its contacts at Upright Education to learn more about the concern that was brought forward.  Upright Education shared that they had communicated with the customer on multiple occasions.  During one of the communications, the customer agreed that they were able to access the system.  Additionally, Upright Education has shared that some of the content in the LMS was completed by the customer.  Upright Education is willing to offer a 25% refund, consistent with the refund policy that the customer agreed to in the Enrollment Agreement.  Upright Education has also indicated that they would be willing to offer the customer the option to continue with the program by starting with the next cohort.

On the date of 3/30/22 I made the full payment of $450 which was the remaining balance for my tuition due to the school. On 3/31/22 they show on their statement charging me an additional $81.00 fee for collections. The previous payment I made was on 11/21/21 for the amount of $100. I received a mailing requesting payment; however there was no indication or notification of collections or a date for which I would be sent to collections. After I made the payment for the full amount I started to receive calls from a collections agency, after the school had received the full tuition amount. I feel that I should not have to incur the fee of $81.00 because the school receive full payment. STCC should waive the $81.00. I feel this has impacted my credit score which was not necessary for them to receive payment.

**** sent multiple notices to the student informing them of the outstanding balance and expressed an interest in working with them to resolve their balance.  Notices were sent on 7/21/21, 8/26/21, and 10/6/21.  The notices included the language: "If payment is not made within 30 days, your account may be placed with an outside collection agency and the ******************* Tax Intercept Program*. "  The notice also referenced "Please note that both agencies will charge additional fees to your outstanding balance."  The payment was made on 3/30/22, as the student had indicated, but this is after the notices were sent and the account was placed with a collection agency.  **** does not report outstanding balances to the credit bureau and therefore this would not negatively impact the students credit score.
