  For our kitchen countertops, we went with Skyline, mainly because of its representation for quality and service. We selected a high-quality stone, calacutta gold suede, with Skyline. Once ready, Skyline came to our house twice to template the layout for the countertops. The Skyline templater, on two occasions, confirmed that the island countertop would be two pieces with a single seam and with the stone to wrap around a post within the island. Everything was smooth sailing. However, on installation day, the problems began. Not only did Skyline forget the sink and asked us to remove cabinetry it previously said did not need to be removed, the island countertop cut was way offnot only was there a 1/4 inch gap against the post where there should not have been, more importantly, the stone did not wrap around the post as previously agreed it would. Instead, Skyline proposed making the island three pieces instead of two, adding a small connector piece between the larger slabs. This change in design was not only news to us (on installation day!) but it was a much different look and contrary to our design. We raised the concerns with Skyline, asking it to correct the problems. Instead of accepting responsibility, Skyline threw others under the bus. Also, for the first time, Skyline informed us that if we wanted the island countertop as previously agreed upon, we would lose our warranty! Again, this was all news at the installation stagenot once was a warranty issue discussed with us prior to installation. Obviously, the warranty was a major reason why we went with Skyline so that was a big piece of news. This is deceptive behavior and unacceptable.We expect Skyline to honor its prior commitments. It is unwilling to do so.
